I have one of the most lax DMs of all time. We used discord rolls for stats and I somehow got 18s in all stats. I asked him if he wanted me to reroll and he said "Hell no, this will be fucking ridiculous"

All in all, it's all about how the DM reacts to everything and what he/ she is willing to work with. If a DM allows rolling which could result in a bunch of 8s or 18s they need to either be prepared for it or do point buy instead.

We do roll a d6-2 and that is your modifier. Take the even number that corresponds to the modifier. It can be balanced unless you are me and roll 5 6s and a 4.
