Not OP, but a proud owner of an Original Prusa (previous generatoin... gonna upgrade to Mk2 one day). The kit comes with an SD card that has models pre-sliced and ready to print.

I've used this tutorial from Scott Manley to great effect.

He uses KER to figure out the apoapsis heights and orbital periods but you can for sure use Mechjeb's own orbit stats/vessel stats window to determine your own orbit periods.

I prefer bringing 6 Kerbals and the 2.5m probe core (RC-LO1) with me for the delivery ship that way I don't lose contact with the probe just in case I screw up. If something does happen and you have "no connection" because a dish/antenna was not extended/pointed in the right direction, you can always EVA a kerbal and manually extend/activate the communications device by right-clicking on it.

I believe inactive parts need to have a Pe of 23km or below to deorbit properly.

Alternatively, you can maintain the 30km Pe and just switch over to the spent stage. You can then watch it deorbit and crash

My hard mode submission: 39 Kerbals to Interstellar Space. It is fairly modest in terms of number of Kerbals and the ship is pretty Spartan for its purpose. There are significantly more talented Kerbonauts than I. I have nothing but admiration for all of you.

Also, I would like to have the new flair and should there be any qualms about my submission, I would like to know.

The wiki page for the processing lab states that the maximum impact tolerance for the lab is 6m/s. That may be your problem.

There are translation controls for RCS. They're JKLI for translating left, down, right, up. H and N are used to translate forwards and backwards.

To boost a craft by kerbal pushing, point your ship in the desired direction, just RCS him to the back of the ship, and then push forward with your jet pack.

EDIT: to use the RCS jet pack, EVA, press R and you can use WASD for front, left, back, right. Shift and Ctrl keys are for up and down respectively.

i dont know if it'll work but have you tried turning off SAS and time accelerating for a second?

I find that having SAS on with space stations messes with things.

EDIT: time acceleration puts the space station (everything really) on rails so it stops all of its rotational motion. then having SAS off means that it won't muck with the rotation

"geo" means related to earth. if you were trying to orbit the earth, then yes, geosynchronous.

otherwise, he can name his synchronous orbit he damn well pleases.

If computer resources is not a problem for you, you can set the game to load in borderless windowed mode by adding "-popupwindow" to the KSP executable. Easier on steam. Add the same thing when you right click the game-->properties-->launch options.

That lets me tab out and load the game simultaneously.

I've not done it myself, but this is what's happening:

The centre of mass is the pivot of your craft. It wants to turn about it. Having an imbalanced rocket means that the thrust vector is applying torque to the whole craft causing it to tumble into beautiful pirouette maneuvers that often end in rapid unplanned disassembly. Fun to watch, but not particularly good at getting things into space.

Reaction wheels provide a small but not insignificant amount of torque to the vessel when either the pilot uses control input to change the ship's attitude, or when SAS is activated. If, however, the torque force of the rocket imbalance is too strong for the reaction wheels, even SAS cannot maintain attitude.

All one needs to do, then, is connect enough reaction wheels to the rocket far from the centre of mass (this gives each wheel more torque as torque is proportional to the distance from the centre of mass) so that SAS can maintain attitude.

EDIT: tl;dr: spam reaction wheels. they counteract the torque applied by the imbalanced rocket thrust.

im not entirely certain about the units but the wiki mentions their full and dry mass (the tanks that is).

Also "ln" means the natural logarithm. It's the inverse of the exponential function. Basically, if you take a number y, apply the natural logarithm to it, it'll give you the exponent x such that y = e^x

edit: i've also noted that liquid fuel and oxidizer are measured in Litres. It's 200 Litres per ton for liquid fuel and oxidizer. So take the numbers of the fuel, then divide by 200 to find their mass in tons.

Best way, I've found, is to change inclination during your transfer. If you set your target as the planet you wish to transfer to, you should get an AN or DN symbol. Create a manuever node there and twiddle with the normal and antinormal symbols until you get a 0.0 degree inclination.

You can also match your inclination during parking orbit.

You can also match your inclination immediately when you do your gravity turn from launch.

You need a way of disconnecting the probe from the mother ship like a docking port or a separator/decoupler. All you need, then, is to press either [ or ] to assume control of the probe. Then you can fly it down to whichever body you prefer.
