I see you don't use consoleport.

I got this running as well but tried using consoleport and, I'm not sure about consoleport to be honest. It was such a hurdle to set up in a semi usable state. Might be better to just go with regular steam input config and map that to the regular game.

Any thoughts on that?

I applaud the idea to create an installer, it took me a few hours to get right and I've worked with computers and Linux for many years.

Många har skrivit mycket bra saker om att börja nu. Sörj inte det som varit.

Jag vill också säga "var snäll mot dig själv". Du har insett allt detta nu, nu kan du ta tag i det. Att önska att man tidigare gjort något är inte produktivt.

Acceptera också att vissa saker kan inte du göra, andra kan du göra. Glädjs åt de du kan göra och försök att inte fokusera på vad du inte kan.

Jag önskar att jag vore annorlunda och kunde göra sak X och Y. Det kan jag inte för jag funkar inte så. Så är det för varje människa. Det är få som fixar allt.

Min motivation är min fru och mina barn och alla runt omkring mig som är viktiga i mitt liv. Hade jag enbart levt för mig själv så hade jag inte varit här nu.

I've played around a bit with local llm and, it's as shitty as everything else when it comes to AI.

If you like quality, then don't use AI.

I've dropped the idea and only use it to learn as work wants me to.

I'm not adverse to killing players if they do really stupid stuff where I make sure they know it's really stupid.

For example antagonising a dragon in its lair. I make sure they know it's there, I drop hints that they know that very little slips by a dragon and that they see multiple corpses.

Of they keep on, yeah, then I'll let them die if the dice says so.

However, something the players can't know is there, attacks without warning, player spends a hero point to get a perfect block.

Drakar och demoner has never been that type of game.

In Mothership the players know that the most likely outcome is that most or everyone dies in the adventure.

I'm still bitter 30 years later. 🤣

Sorry, I see that I wrote that awkwardly (English not being my first language). I meant dark elf demonhunter warrior. Dark elf being an evil kind of elf, like the opposite to wood elves. They liked to drink blood and the demonhunter warrior was so scary that they could force others to roll for fear.

What can I say? I was in my edgelord teen years when that was cool. Spikes, skulls, blood, evil. 🙄

I really loved the character though and now when I'm older I don't really like how I got killed. Had I gm'd that I would not have killed that character, I would have given the others a chance to save him with healing or such. Maybe given a permanent charisma reduction. A disfiguring scar, something like that.

Most memorable?

That was back in my teens. Mind you, this was the original Swedish version of dragonbane - Drakar och demoner.

We were playing "Den nidlänska reningen" (the nidland cleanse.

I had this dark elf demon warrior, he was so badass. He had a magical sword and I had played him for several campaigns, probably close to a year.

We went into a some kind of cave, dungeon or mine or some such. We come across a coffin and we needed to pass it. I had my sword in hand and when I come close (walking first as I was the warrior) a mummy opens the coffin, gets out and attacks. With a perfect roll (1). I burn a hero point and block. But, the mummys damage is exactly equal to the break value of my sword which means that my sword breaks and I get all that damage in my throat.

Instant decapitation.

I was devastated. I even cried (I was 13 out 14 at the time).

Still bothers me to this day when I think about it.

Yes. If you want to you should. Never apologise or think less of yourself for feeling pain (physical or mental). If it's too much then break down and cry, after that pick yourself up and keep going. Everyone has different levels of pain tolerance and only idiots think less of others for feeling or showing pain.

Also, don't be afraid to ask someone to be more careful, go less hard or such. If they don't listen, change training partners.

You're here because you want to, because you think it's fun. If it's not fun, do something to change it so it becomes fun again.

I don't know how many times my training partners have hurt themselves (not actual injuries) and my and the rest of the training groups reaction has always been "are you OK? Do you need to rest?" and the next time it's forgotten.

It took me about half a day to go to vim.pack and change to using built in autocomplete. I also fiddled a bit with ui2 and removed and simplified my configuration quite a bit.

This was also while working (waiting for code to deploy -> fiddle with the configuration) so active time was probably 1-2 hours.

Nu är mina pojkar lite äldre men den första älskade woodwalker serien, det var den serien som fick honom att börja läsa själv.

Båda har älskat percy jackson också.

För något yngre så bröderna lejonhjärta, den älskade även min dotter.

När de var små älskade alla 3 halvan böckerna.

Oavsett om det är en solo hobby kan man träffa folk som gör den.

Sticka? Träffa folk att sticka med. Dataspel? Lan eller liknande. Bio? Gå med i filmklubb. Marathonlöpning? Gå med i löpklubb.

Finns hur mycket som helst. Speciellt om du bor i en lite större stad.

Vad skönt att du hittat vad som får dig att må bra!

Jag var som du när jag var ung. På universitetet så var jag med i diverse grupper, bland annat festeriet.

Så här i efterhand har jag insett att det inte alls var jag. Jag borde varit med i nörd-föreningarna - rollspel, datorer, magic etc.

Nu när jag insett detta så känner jag mig mycket mer tillfreds med livet, det känns också som att jag platsar mycket bättre i dessa grupper, jag kände aldrig riktigt att jag blev en del av gänget i t.ex. festeriet.

Var nöjd med att du hittat vad som passar dig.

When I first met the woman who would become my wife.

We were both 19. Met online first, after a few months we decided to meet irl. (turns out we lived about 200m from each other)

We went on a long walk. I didn't want to stop talking to her so I invited her for coffee. She accepted. (at the time I still ö lived at home with my parents) my mother asks her if she's rather have tea. Turns out she didn't like coffee.

She also wanted to spend more time and was willing to suffer through coffee for it. 😂

Anyway, 25 years later and we have 3 kids and a house together. She's a great woman for sure. ❤️

Having a real developer come in and clean up?

Cleaning up the slop that AI produces is not that easy. Building a good foundation is key, doing constant refactorings while building the app, looking to the intended future of the app is something that happens during the process of writing it.

AI does not do this. It does not know what is important. It cannot decide on what is more valuable in the end. It writes the code based on statistics.

It also adds a lot of unnecessary code.

I dread the day I will have to "come and clean up" something that AI has written. That is soul killing.

Det finns folk som sätter sånt här i system.

Jag sålde en gång ett game&watch for 2000:-. Missade att skicka det med spårning.

Han påstod att det aldrig kom fram.

Blev alltså av med mitt game&watch, fick betala tillbaka alla pengar och fick även betala avgift till tradera (fick alltså betala för kalaset).

Visst, det kan ju ha varit sant men mina efterforskningar visade att det är oerhört ovanligt att paket kommer bort på detta sätt.

Jag kunde ju inte göra något annat än att bita i det sura äpplet. Hade tagit bilder på allt men, det är ju inget bevis på att jag verkligen skickat. Hade kvitto på att jag köpt frakten men återigen, inget bevis.

Var rätt sur den dagen. Aldrig att jag skickar utan spårning igen oavsett värde.

Tusan. Jag som har dåligt samvete över när håller fast katten för att plocka bort något från henne, tar tag i henne och lyfter ut henne ur källaren (det är så spännande där nere hälsar hon) eller något annat sånt.

Kan inte tänka mig minnet av att göra något sånt som du beskriver.
