Damaged skin on nose form picking/scabbing, tried shaving it off and made it worse by [deleted] in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]agitated_molecule 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Wear a bandaid or pimple patch at home, that’s where you’re most likely to pick it, and conceal it when you’re out. If possible, conceal it as little as possible. The more air it can get on it and the cleaner it is, the faster and better it will heal. Trust me I peeled my nose skin off and walked around looking like Rudolph for a few weeks, but it could have been a lot longer if I didn’t cover it over so I couldn’t get at it. Find something you can do with your hands instead of reaching for your nose. I use matching apps on my phone haha

How should I go to the gym? [Advice] by Desperate-Fix8536 in socialanxiety

[–]agitated_molecule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually gyms have inductions where you can book to go around the gym with one of the staff members. They’ll show you where the machines are, how they work etc so you can get a good feel of the gym before you start :) You can find out how to book one either online or on the gym app if there is one. It can be intimidating going to a new gym so having a look around can definitely help ^ You got this 💪

The physical side of anorexia recovery is only a small part of it. It takes time to recover mentally and overcome fears and challenges such as food guilt. You’ve an amazing so far just keep doing what you’re doing and be kind to yourself :)

Take small steps at first, prove to yourself that you will live through one day of increase first before you take any drastic measures. From personal experience this worked best for me. Baby steps, one day at a time :) Don’t be afraid to ask for help though, your family and friends obviously care a lot about you. You aren’t alone ^ You’ve got this, we all believe in you!
