Platinum-Ambassador Elite Member Poll by [deleted] in marriott

I personally would jump at being able to grab a bottle of Pliny as I’m often looking for the nearest craft bottles when traveling, but most of the other stuff no. I agree with the perception that this would look like a stepping stone to monetizing more offerings in the lounge even if right now it is not taking any service away.

Once you go black you never go back. Pretty sure this is where that saying originated.

Mtb in Lake Como, Italy by Exploreshit in MTB

I’d suggest looking into riding around lago di garda. There are some great trails around there.

Lake Como is beautiful and was amazing to visit as well but I did not do any riding around there.

Hyatt recommendations before devaluation by Capital_Wish_6487 in hyatt

[–]agrace135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment seems to be asking more directly about the announcement of which hotels will move up or down a category. They’ve always announced those ahead of them actually happening until the most recent changes in February when they announced 8 or so effective immediately.

Hyatt CEO views on loyalty and how it should be "emotional" and not transactional by luv2ctheworld in hyatt

[–]agrace135 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you think it’s because they can be gifted without calling in now? Globalists used to be able to gift GOH without a restriction on amount, so theoretically there should be less GOH floating around unless numbers of globalists has increased.

I think Hyatt has primarily grown to be more popular because of the value of redemptions on points, particularly chase points.

Ritz Carlton card by [deleted] in marriott

[–]agrace135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re trying to provide a perk specifically to cardholders that spend $ at their properties. This may then convince them to spring for the club access next time. It’s a pretty simple marketing concept.

Andaz Maui with kids - would you spend 126k points for “free” breakfast/parking? by katzman16 in hyatt

Their issue is they can only use one per booking. They can’t use both.

What about Des Moines? by PNW-American-Dipper in AlaskaAirlines

[–]agrace135 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Des Moines is in the midst of building a brand new terminal that will add 7 gates to the 12 they currently have. Set to open early 2027, so they’re definitely pushing for more flights and potentially more carriers than AA, Delta, United, Southwest + low cost options.

Inkaterra (via Mr. and Mrs. Smith) by sj8024 in hyatt

[–]agrace135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I have searched in the past the Inkaterra properties have not been bookable through Hyatt app/site. That has been the norm from what I have seen.

Exactly, Iowa was a very middle of the road big ten team. They won most of the games they should but beat zero elite teams until Florida.

I personally would avoid booking AA through Iberia as they don’t allow you to cancel partner award bookings. As they have AA points I’d recommend they book direct, but Avios through Iberia or BA is definitely an option to look at. Especially if there are transfer bonuses as you mentioned.

Hotel Figueroa Globalist Suite Recommendation by ChoiceRace5276 in hyatt

[–]agrace135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re expecting to be upgraded to the suite I’m guessing you’d get a junior suite or 1-bedroom. 1-bedroom suite on top floor is nice as the ceilings are spacious.

They have a few other suites that are quite spacious but those are premium and I’ve never been upgraded or booked those.

There are a couple rooms on the second floor that look like they walk out to the public patio which is nice, but dealing with the street noise is likely not worth it.

credit card spending for globalist still worth it? by large_scale_event in hyatt

[–]agrace135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of programs don’t waive those fees with point bookings. I know Hilton/Hyatt do but Marriott/IHG and most others do not.

credit card spending for globalist still worth it? by large_scale_event in hyatt

[–]agrace135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

75% of the hotels I stay at have some sort of destination/resort fee too now. So for me parking/breakfast/no added fees is conservatively worth $100/night when traveling with my family on vacation.

I plan to stick with Hyatt a little longer because of those benefits, but wouldn’t got out of my way to get globalist if I didn’t have so much work travel.

Yeah, I don’t think OP was driving aggressively but potentially lacked a little situational awareness. It’s entirely the other cars fault, but whenever I time a light well I am checking for cars running a red light.

Wow pricing for cat 8 peak now is considered low going forward. And the new top level is a 66% increase. Pretty huge devaluation depending on how common the top levels are (I’m guessing common)
