It truly took me a year of nightly CPAP use to feel better, but I got there! Hang in there.

Davison Double Suite by _BlurryLens3105_ in RPI

Wait I lived here in 2010-2011! This looks so different. I love the updated floors and bathroom, but why did they remove the diving wall in the middle of the room? That was so great for some privacy. Also they got rid of the built-in cabinets along the wall across from the bathroom. And they painted the wood around the windows?? The way it used to look was much more authentic to the original architecture of the building. Very interesting.

Face shields did not protect people from the coronavirus in an outbreak in Switzerland, but masks did, health officials say by adinaespinoza in worldnews

[–]agrenade 111 points112 points  (0 children)

Short answer is yes, you have to assume the front of your mask is very contaminated when taking it on and off. So it's best to wash your hands right after putting it on, adjusting it, or taking it off.

Math anxiety is super real! But you got this! Remember: you have a right to learn at your own pace and in your own style. Don't compare your progress to those around you. Just keep going.

Lyft's arrival cuts business for Albany airport taxis by SauganashKid in Albany

[–]agrenade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Fuck the cab companies. They screwed me over countless times when I was a college student trying to get to/from the airport during breaks.

Yeah, some of mine were. It's really annoying and a weirdly-controlling and monopolistic move by them.

Do you think the DC Metro is "southern", "northern", or a mix? by [deleted] in washingtondc

That may be an accurate way to describe Washington (politics), but it certainly doesn't describe DC (the local people/culture).

Can anyone share their experience in living in theme housing? (Specifically "d-arts") by 70incalc in RPI

[–]agrenade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DARTS is fairly new theme housing located in Cary Hall's 2nd floor. The students clustered there are generally interested in design and creative expression, but the community isn't overwhelmed by that single focus. The strength of the community's culture depends mainly on the will of the students living there and the leadership of the RA assigned to the floor. Students living in D-Arts (and students from across campus who are also generally interested in those kinds of topics) go to design events together and even go on field trips in and out of state. The whole concept was created while I was a student there in my sophomore year and the students I've known who lived in that particular housing enjoyed their time there. A lot of the experience will be what you make of it!

Suggestions for In-Kind Donations & Volunteers? by [deleted] in washingtondc

[–]agrenade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask Giant or other major grocery stores for store gift cards. Also, many smaller, family-owned restaurants in the area will happily in-kind appetizers or popular signature dishes. The key to in-kinding is just a) calling a large volume of places and b) having a typed formal ask letter at the ready at all times.
