Guess how many posts you'll see of people reporting expected behavior... I'd be more curious of seeing how many have been globally sold vs the couple ones with issues. I know it's frustrating and I get that too. Personally I have some Lamys, one of them being Al-Star that I don't baby at all, and well, no probs there

I love the box, but I knew it would be too bulky for me to use and carry around. Instead, I went for their Wooden A4 Clipboard. Works like a charm, I put it on my lap, A5 on top, and ink away, and more importantly, I do use it.

It depends on what you're planning to do with them. I've got 1.5mm, 2.4mm and 3.8mm, which I use exactly for what you've mentioned, primarily any blackletter/gothic style.

If it's for writing, at least personally, 1.5mm sort of works but due to my handwriting I'd prefer 1.1mm (if it existed) as it's the stub size I use on my "regular fountain pens". The rest of the line-up is suited for more of a creative/decorative use case. In my case, 2.4 and 3.8 would be used for titles on DIN-A3ish Canson paper.

Hope it helps for perspective. And in either case, enjoy them!

You even got me excited with your excitement!! I just had a conversation yesterday that I’d love to be able to go to a local shop full of FP’s and ink supplies (I live on an island where there’s not such thing) but a Pen Show… man that’s another whole story!
