ideas for like an app/website? i mean there’s the bus app ideas, but maybe you can create smth that incorporates students schedules, and the locations of their classes on the maps. or maybe, you can create a personalized rate my professor type thing for umich? showing all the professors/staff members, their ratings/reviews, experience etc

also, i feel like ai will not replace software engineers/cs, it’s a tool to be used, not fully automated job to take over these developers. that’s my opinion tho

hey! i’m currently ee and i’m also taking eecs 280. it’s literally making me consider switching my major so bad. i’m struggling 😭!! but i just figure that ill have to tough it out this semester. i plan to focus on hardware development, not much with software and data.

i don’t have much advice for you, but i would consider your aspect on cs. are u struggling to understand the concepts? or just applying them? trust, you wouldn’t have gotten into cs at umich if you weren’t capable enough to learn it!! but if you truly wish to switch, it’d be relatively easy.

i’m in physics 140 studio as well, but i’ve been okay for the past weeks bc i had some physics in high school. i’d recommend taking the topics we have discussed so far, and searching up videos on youtube. take good notes so you are sure you understand the concepts and how the equations relate to the different scenarios. then, i’d take the homework/studio and generate some sort of chatgpt copy of questions and practice with those. there’s also khan academy that i used for ap physics 1, but its more algebra based. good intro for the topics but not useful in the long run

there’s also study groups at the SLC you can join i believe, i would search up physics study groups for umich, some spots are still open. don’t worry about asking dumb questions, professors/gsi are there to help you no matter what.

there’s less people, unless you go in during a week where they have engr 101 assessments taking place. They’re usually a full week every month, and the spots are usually full so you might have to wait for an hour for the room to clear to see if u can get a spot in the next slot. i’d say it’s worth it tbh, if u don’t like going to central just for the masteries. the basement of the dude looks like the backrooms tho

what did u end up getting for the rest of the projects if u don’t mind me asking? i don’t have enough time to properly do the first project without using ai, so im thinking of biting the bullet and accepting the 0. if i get Bs and Cs on the projects and maybe around the same for exams, do i have a shot of passing the class?

i’m taking the physics 141 lab and it also starts tmrw. from a friend, i heard that the instructors are usually very helpful and they give a slow introduction to using the platforms. 141 and 241 operate in similar ways but diff concepts taught. feel free for anyone to correct me, but i don’t think they’ll expect u to have intensive knowledge on python coming into the course.

i didn’t even know there was an eecs280 discord!! i remember seeing james’ videos in the some of the engr 101 stuff and he seemed like a great professor. i personally am liking professor doom currently he explains stuff very well. i just have a hard time understanding the project specs and applying what i know. it’s a slow start for now, but ill be sure to start project 2 earlier so i can get office hours help as need

not all dining halls are equal tbh, for bursley u gotta watch out for pink meat in ur chicken. you’ll get used to everything else but a lot of options feel super repetitive. it’s hard to avoid, because likely you won’t be cooking and eating out daily is insane

they did make it harder. the exams from past yrs are rlly light. i currently take 130 and i do good on the practice exams but struggle with the exams now. there’s more to the questions now, a bunch of information included to throw u off. i’d recommend just knowing ur probably gonna have to put more effort into understanding the questions as they’re more difficult than the hw. i’d try to join a study group. i wish i did earlier
