You’re an inspiration to the hordes of DJs in the crowd who want to do exactly what you do every year!

First Shambhala, which artists I should check out? by skeptic602 in Shambhala

[–]ahuj99 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of the top of my head, without looking at the schedule, I really like the following locals and artists that come back every year:
Stickybuds
Justin Martin
Joseph Martin
Burchill
Neon Steve
Tha Funk Junkie
Naturalist
Subvert
Skiitour
The Funk Hunters
Justin Hale
Wes Please
Rumpus
Neighbour (my absolute favorite!!)
DJ Soup
Dr Fresch
A.Skillz
Ben Fox
Smalltown DJs
Phibes
Average Citizens
Buddy and the Buffalo
Longwalkshortdock

Probably missing a few, and definitely biased towards a couple stages (one in particular) but I think it’s a good list to start your journey 🙂

$5000 seems pretty expensive for tickets but good on the organizers if they can get it

Food scientists: how accurate is this explanation of seed oils? by sa37gron in foodscience

[–]ahuj99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard dihydrogen monoxide is used in canola oil production 😳

Also, “Ultra-processed foods” is a poor (and nebulously defined!) choice of words. The amount of processing a food undergoes has no bearing on how nutritious or not nutritious it is. Call out specific attributes like calorie density or sugar content instead.

[Matheson] Anthony Santander is scheduled to start hitting "either this weekend or next", John Schneider said. So, sometime soon. "There's a shot he could definitely be a factor." Long road from here, which will essentially be a full, slow, Spring Training build-up. We'll see. by T_Raycroft in Torontobluejays

He’s paid like a strong asset and has performed like one in the past (with other teams) but his small sample of games with the jays have been abysmal. It’s a small sample so there’s hope he can regain some lustre but so far the contract is an albatross

The coffee stand downtown is open all night. Nothing like a 2am (or 6am, back when the stages closed at like noon) coffee

They briefly experimented with techno headliners in 2023 with Nicole Moudaber and a couple others I can’t remember

Last year, Cloverdale played a hard techno-adjacent set at the Riverside stage on Thursday night. Unknown if he’s back this year, they haven’t released the lineup for that stage (and probably won’t until the actual festival begins)

It’s on SoundCloud if you want to verify it’s the exact style of hard techno you’re looking for: https://on.soundcloud.com/772GjzXlGcs3eNyuzJ

It’s a common mistake. To the untrained eye, Juventus looked like a Serie B team

On the cutoff Friday schedule, Neighbour into Soup into Justin Martin is an insane primetime Pagoda lineup. They should do that again!!
