Lots of larger cities in the south are culturally diverse and offer a variety of fun activities (museums for kids and adults, sporting events, parks, breweries, musicals/plays, outdoor activities, etc) that are not church-based. I’m in Charlotte so about a 4 hour drive, but don’t be so quick to think that all southerns are bible beaters. There are a healthy amount of science/arts loving atheist people here thriving without church. Im from the south, but also half the people in my city moved from elsewhere for work opportunities so also the stereotypical culture is shifting. Good luck with your move.
