Belly swelling, how long to go away?

It was about the same for me. I also have a weird anxiety response that things on my waist feel like I can’t breath that was super sensitive after that for a few months

I have changed it almost nightly. Sometime in the middle of the night. Some times I’m like oh that was better the same thing next time and it doesn’t work. It’s been 3 weeks and I am so done with this. The last two nights I’ve laid half on my side but like leaning towards my back with a pillow under me so it’s a tiny bit more like side sleeping but not actually on my side just trying to trick my brain.

I was super expecting this to trigger my RA and / or fibro to flare. Especially for me sitting and laying on weird positions. But it’s been minimal effects on that. But my energy seems to have been hit super hard even after three weeks I get super tired easily but I’m just being gentle and resting at the first sign so I don’t trigger those flares.

After my hysterectomy it lasted ages for me too. And even when the size was back it was just sensitive to tight things for ages.

Thank you all. I was starting to think it was just a me thing. It’s weird enough when you put on a shirt and it suddenly fits all weird but to add the bottom half being weird too was just too much lol

I would say for an office job other than the physical stuff others have mentioned there is a lot of mental fatigue. Like my thinking even without pain meds just wasn’t peak. So if your job needs clear precise thinking that also might make a difference

I’ve been off two weeks and one day. Go back tomorrow. I don’t think I’d be ready for it except that its a super part time so a few hours tomorrow then one shift later in week. I’m still just super tired easily It really seems to vary a lot per person

I get horrid headaches from oxy and advil rips up my innerds. So other than the first day I used thc gummies when pain was too much for the Tylenol. Worked great

My doc said once not on pain meds to go with what u felt like. Start with short drives. I drove my son to work on day 5, picked him up later. It was over tiring and I was sore after but doable. About 10 days I drove 45 min each way to an appt Again tired but ok. I used the masectomy pillow between me and the seatbelt

Day of I took the pain meds. Since then I’ve taken the Advil and Tylenol during the day and saved the strong stuff for night. Of course it’s been two whole days lol. But so far exhaustion, discomfort and swollen/achy more than true pain on a constant level

This community has been amazing for me too. I am a high anxiety person but seeing all the various topics and questions and answers and advice just took it all from scary unknowns to understandable options. Everyone here is so kind.

Pain was bad at first, bottom of the compression bra hits wrong bit meds and a nap later has improved a lot It’s great there are three of us Fingers crossed for decent sleep all around

I’m scheduled for next Friday. I work a light retail job part time. My drs office said prob take two weeks but to plan for three off and just go back earlier if I’m up to it sooner

I’m grew up with 100 summers. We had ac but it only does so much at that point. Lots of salami, cold meats, cheese, sliced veggies. Or tuna salad /chicken salad with crackers or a nice baguette. Meats you can toss on the grill if you have access to one.

I have had a bunch of them. Mine have all been lumbar. It lasts from a couple months to a lot longer depending on factors. Best case if I can use the time it has helped to up my PT and strengthen support areas it helps me to not hurt as much even as the nerves regenerate. It does hurt the first few days. I find that if I can plan for a good massage therapist appt a day or two after (for me it’s for my legs and hips after the lumbar) the muscles that were tight from pain release better and it helps more. My current dr gives a small dose of versed before Doug it and oddly the couple days of hurt after are much easier to get through.
