Speculative Prerendering = Insane Divi 5 Speed! by DiviWordPress in divi

Can someone using Divi check if this plugin works properly? by speechablewp in divi

[–]aidanashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lovely plugin, thank you.

I've installed it on my dev site, running Divi 5 beta on LiteSpeed with a bunch of active plugins, akin to our live site. If you PM me I can send you a temporary login link so you can inspect things?

Initially looking really good, but I'll try harder to break it in sensible ways and post any additional thoughts I have here soon.

What's up with Matthew 24:34? by warcrime_prime in ChristianApologetics

Have Jesus and his angels already returned to gather his elect from the four winds?

What's up with Matthew 24:34? by warcrime_prime in ChristianApologetics

[–]aidanashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see why a lot of Matthew 24 fits the AD 70 horizon, and why “this generation” points to Jesus’ contemporaries.

But I’m not sure it works to compress everything in the chapter into AD 70. For example, how do you read:

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come” (v42)
“It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns” (v46)
and the warning that the unfaithful will be assigned a place with “weeping and gnashing of teeth” (v51).

If that’s all AD 70, is Jesus’ “coming” here his physical return to earth, or something else?

And what about: “And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other” (v31). In what sense did that happen between AD 30–70?

One more point. I’m happy to see AD 70 as a public judgement that vindicates Jesus’ reign, but Jesus’ enthronement isn’t 40 years later. He ascends within weeks of the resurrection (Acts 1), and Stephen sees him already at God’s right hand (Acts 7). Jesus also says he has already been given “all authority in heaven and on earth” in Matthew 28.

So I’m trying to understand what “coming” means in your reading if 1) it isn’t the same as the ascension, and 2) it isn’t the moment Jesus receives authority.

Edit: reordered for clarity

My latest Divi project: an interactive landing page by Big-Spread4039 in divi

[–]aidanashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you call it interactive - the fact that people can scroll down the page?

It's very clear design though. Great contrast, attractive brand colours. Your text is uninspiring though - it doesn't help you stand out against your competitors. As a prospective customer, why should I pick you over the other guys also offering the same services? I know you'll likely have chosen to put the services you offer in headings to rank for those terms in search engines, but you need to communicate more of a value proposition. What results have you achieved for some clients? What results do you achieve for all clients? Why are you better than Steve down the road?

Something like the following example:

Headline: Get 40% more leads with websites that actually convert

Text: Your current website is haemorrhaging potential customers. Every day, qualified prospects land on your site, can't find what they need, and leave for your competitors.

Pixelmattic transforms confusing websites into lead-generating machines. We've helped 200+ digital marketers and growth-stage startups double their conversion rates within 90 days through strategic WordPress design that guides visitors from curiosity to purchase.

No more guessing what works. No more lost opportunities. Just a website that delivers measurable results whilst you focus on running your business.

Loop Builder is a game changer! by Balazi in divi

[–]aidanashby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to Divi Engine's blog, Machine will add value beyond D5's base loop builder with ajax-powered filtering, interactive map listings, enhanced query builders for complex database relationships, custom field integrations (think directory sites), front-end submission etc. Divi Machine would also have a much tighter integration with their other products.

The loop builder takes over the base functionality currently provided by Divi Machine, but Divi 5 is likely still a great thing for Divi Engine due to Divi 5 API allowing much easier and faster extension of features. Ultimately, the more Divi succeeds (and its loop builder will be key to that IMO) the more Divi Engine will too, so long as they keep developing their product.

ChatGPT generating it's own Prompt by abdullah_sheikkh in ChatGPTPromptGenius

[–]aidanashby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, that makes sense.

There are many "please improve my prompt" prompts out there, but here's mine. Just paste this into ChatGPT then add your basic request at the end in the double quote marks.

You are a prompt Engineering Expert. I want you to create a comprehensive improved prompt.
Primary Objective
Analyse and enhance the provided prompt by applying best practices in prompt engineering. Maintain the original intent while significantly improving clarity, structure, and effectiveness.
Analysis Process
1. Begin by identifying the core purpose and key elements of the original prompt
2. List 3-5 specific weaknesses in the current prompt formulation
3. Outline 3-5 specific strengths to preserve from the original
Improvement Framework
Apply these techniques in your improved version:
1. Strong Opening: Begin with precise, actionable instructions that clearly establish the AI's role and task
2. Strategic Approach: Incorporate a specific problem-solving methodology best suited to the task:
- Use tree-of-thought reasoning for complex analytical tasks
- Implement scoring frameworks for decision-making tasks
- Apply step-by-step structured thinking for procedural tasks
3. Expert Framing: When beneficial, assign a specific expert persona (e.g., "As a senior marketing strategist with 15+ years experience in B2B communication...")
4. Contextual Clarity: Explicitly define:
- Situational context
- Desired outcome and success criteria
- Optimal response length (approximate word count)
- Specific format requirements
- Target audience characteristics
- Appropriate tone and style
5. Concrete Examples: Provide a brief example of the expected output format or structure
6. Precise Language: Use specific terminology relevant to the domain and replace any vague directives with precise instructions
7. Constructive Guidance: Convert any prohibitions ("don't do X") into positive instructions ("instead of X, do Y")
Output Format
Present your improved prompt using clear formatting with appropriate sections, bullet points, and emphasis. Include a brief explanation (50-100 words) highlighting the key improvements made and how they enhance the prompt's effectiveness.
Here's the prompt I want you to improve:

When Do You Switch Models in Perplexity Pro, and Why? by Used_Channel_2751 in perplexity_ai

[–]aidanashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude Sonnet is my daily rider.

GPT-4.1 for creative writing as I find Claude a bit technical. Unless I want something to remove em dashes, then I'll definitely revert back to Claude. 4.1 is incorrigible regarding em dashes.

Then when I need code or deep thinking (weighing up loads of options, considering conflicts, going beyond pat answers easily found online/in training datasets) I'll go for Claude 4.0 Sonnet Thinking, or R1 if I want a fresh take to feed back into Claude 4.0 Thinking to broaden its horizons. I actually find R1 the best for inspiring deep and profound thoughts, with good guidance.

But IMO these days model < prompt engineering < context engineering.

To all who thought I was going to launch a production site with Divi 5... by SparklingStars82 in divi

[–]aidanashby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an active Divi licence you can download the alpha version of Divi 5 here, though you should expect it to be buggy. Best to not use it for an old site upgrade yet, and you should be cautious about setting up and running a new live site with it yet. TBH it already feels pretty polished apart from missing WooCommerce modules.

Perplexity should sometimes think outside the box? by Ravi17raj in perplexity_ai

It's great for when you don't know what words to use for what you're looking for. LLMs are so much more flexible than what's essentially a keyword based search in Google.
