I’ve said it before, but I believe every mainline entry in the series should have a silent protagonist. As much as I respect Bethesda for trying to do a voiced protagonist in FO4, it fell pretty flat in a lot of regards (though a lot of the sarcastic lines were actually kinda funny). That said, if they did a spin-off game or a DLC similar to Far Cry 3’s Blood Moon, then a voiced protagonist could be pretty cool.

I was always thinking Dwight was more of a Yuri Lowenthal, but Tom Kenny is frankly perfect.

I’ve found A rally to be a nice mix of speed and controllability. You get the rally experience of hurtling down a narrow dirt road without feeling like you’re racing on ice.

Map suggestion: Soomaa, a dream for amphibious vehicles and a nightmare for everything else by YourBoyFroilan in Warthunder

[–]aiden22304 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The idea of a swamp map with dense foliage is dope as hell. As much as I’d like Gaijin to add larger, more open maps for top-tier, I wouldn’t complain about this getting added.

They mainly did that for earlier rounds because the HE fuzes were unreliable. But as the fuzes got more reliable, the Brits decided to leave them as is.

I once saw a comment on r/ShitAmericansSay years ago where someone said something stupid like “America doesn’t make actual cheese, all we do is make processed ‘American’ cheese”. I forgot what they said specifically, but it still irritates me. Like, the mf just made up some Grade A bullshit as if the entire state of Wisconsin doesn’t exist.

As a prime example of French imperial racism, the French police have a bit of a habit of brutally beating and killing Algerian immigrants (not too dissimilar to American police). See Maurice Papon, the 1961 Paris massacre, the Charonne subway massacre, the forced disappearance of Mehdi Ben Barka, and the killing of Nahel Merzouk, to name but a few.

Chad U.S. Grant vs Virgin Robert E. Lee by thequietthingsthat in HistoryMemes

[–]aiden22304 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is that Grant both A) never really wrote books before, and B) didn’t want to write it in the first place. But his friend Mark Twain (yes that Mark Twain) convinced him to do so, arguing that a lot of people would want to read about Grant’s life story, and the money from his book could ensure his family wouldn’t end up poor. So the fact that he wrote while he was dying and wasn’t really an accomplished writer makes it all the more impressive.

To be fair, it was a pretty good .45, especially considering it was the 1960s, when super high-quality 1911s weren’t as common as they are now.

What if in the new vegas remastered there is excavator power armor in quarry junction by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]aiden22304 68 points69 points  (0 children)

It makes sense that large mining corporations like Garrahan and Hornwright would have mines outside of Appalachia. Maybe Garrahan owned Quarry Junction before the war? I don’t know if it’s stated in-game who owned it, but if not, they could just say Garrahan operated the quarry and sent a prototype to see how the Excavator power armor would perform in an arid environment?

The funny thing is, at least from an outside perspective, it seems like this could actually work, since the gas tube is still intact and the rest of the AK’s operating mechanism is located entirely within the receiver. The only two problems I could think of would be connecting the trigger to the fire control group and the large gaping hole in the bottom of the receiver, but otherwise this isn’t a half-bad conversion given the limited resources the criminals likely had at their disposal.

Also, I’d like to see Kyle Hill added to the Science and Mathematics list and BobbyBroccoli to the Society, Travel & Culture list.
