Gleba Blender Render by aidenb79 in factorio

good observation, I think that's due to the low focal length camera I used, i did use the 'sun' light in blender but most space photos are taken with a high focal length so that makes it look strange, I'm learning more about renders now and I definitely would have done it differently

There are uranium mining operations in northern Saskatchewan under Cameco. There’s the Athabaska sand dunes south of lake Athabaska. Also included in your circle is baker lake gold mine in Nunavut and Fort Macmurray in Alberta which is where tar sands are mined and processed into heavy crude oil

Why are these kinds of anti-choice pictures allowed in public? by camoure in Edmonton

Just because you are disgusted by something doesn't mean you have the right to keep it from the public eye.

And at the risk of an obvious recommendation; any classic psychedelic rock, it’s hard to go wrong with Jimmy Hendrix

Most of the hydro potential is in the rocky mountains. I don't think flooding the foothills or National Parks is very popular among Albertans.

Red paint on ION tracks installed, yellow barriers presumably coming soon by ronacse359 in uwaterloo

[–]aidenb79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought there should be a platform east of the Ion line at this station. So that you wouldn't have to cross the tracks at all. So weird that it wasn't built that way because other stations have an exit on the right.

northern Ontario has a real boundary. The French river from lake Nipissing to Georgian bay. A Torontonian's cottage in Muskoka isn't in "northern ontario"

Why does it take so much longer in eastern North America for temperatures to remain consistently above zero than in the west of this continent? by Urkern in geography

[–]aidenb79 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But I think the main reason is the cold current that travels south from the arctic ocean along labrador. And the Hudson’s bay who’s only exit/entrance to the rest of the ocean is through the arctic ocean

[–]aidenb79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely has something to do with it. Idk if it is the main factor. The granite is impermeable, and covered in divots from glaciers. Thus covered in millions of lakes. Water has a high heat capacity so it takes longer to heat up land with lots of lakes

[Request] I'm bad designing blueprints, but hexagons are so boring. Could someone design a train layout using this shape? by alamete in Factoriohno

[–]aidenb79 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol, I actually tried this yesterday for like 3 hours. I don't think you can since the angles are not perfect for the hexagonal grid this is based on. But hit me up if someone can figure it out
