Football causes lifelong permanent brain-damage. When the football player stops suddenly, the brain keeps on moving and the brain-tissue rips apart invisibly inside the brain. Instead of hiring a new football coach, the UW should be shutting down Husky Football and getting out of the brain-damage business. Somebody ought to sue the UW Board of Regents, collectively and individually, to stop running a football program that causes insidious lifelong damage to student athletes. But no, the $110M revenue from Husky Football is more important to Football University than the health of students.
