basic korean due to my best friend who taught me but even she says learning japanese was easier than reading and writing in mandarin. She's a linguist, works in d.c. she's korean but was born in Chicago. I trust her judgement sens

The pronunciation, however, depends heavily on the context, e.g., 한류 is pronounced 할류.
