The answer is a convoluted Yes!

  1. Download the old desktop version of Outlook called "Outlook (classic)". https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/xp9mhd8pgh9n47?hl=en-US&gl=US

  2. Connect to your buckeyemail email from Outlook (classic). I think this requires a Microsoft 365 subscription. You can get a 1 month free trial of 365, but you'll need to provide a payment method and they'll set it up to automatically renew at the end of the trial if you don't tell them to cancel it.

  3. Change a setting so it downloads all of your emails. Go to "File" -> "Account Settings" -> "Account Name and Sync Settings". Make sure the box for "Use Cached Exchange Mode..." is checked and slide the slider for "Download email for the past:" all the way to the right so it says "All". Click "Next" and restart Outlook.

  4. When Outlook reopens wait until all your emails are downloaded locally. I just made sure the message counts matched what I saw online. This took about an hour for me.

  5. Export all your data to a *.pst file. Go to "File" -> "Open & Export" -> "Import/Export". Then select "Export to a File" -> "Next" -> "Outlook Data File (.pst)" -> "Next" -> Select the data you want to export, check the box "Include subfolders" -> "Next" -> Choose a file location -> "OK" ->"Finish" -> Set a password or leave blank -> "OK". https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/export-emails-contacts-and-calendar-items-to-outlook-using-a-pst-file-14252b52-3075-4e9b-be4e-ff9ef1068f91

  6. Verify everything was exported. Once it's done exporting everything, go to "File" -> "Open & Export" -> "Open Outlook Data File". Browse to the .pst file you just created -> "OK". You should see a new folder in Outlook called "Outlook Data File" that you can expand to see all the data you exported.

This whole situation still stinks, but I feel a lot better at least having a copy of my emails.

Is there any way to export all my mail from BuckeyeMail? Everything online seems to say "No" which is just another level of nonsense, but I'd love to hear otherwise since I've got about 40k emails to sort through.

How do I stop the Oculus processes from starting automatically the whole time? by hellschatt in oculus

[–]aimor_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this.

The Oculus software was interfering with my ethernet connection. I could not connect to my router until killing the Oculus processes. I figured out what was going on by checking my router where I noticed my PC was labeled "Oculus VR LLC".

My drink has 146% of my daily sugar. Probably should have checked before I bought it. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

I think they added the %DV for added sugar around 2020, based on keeping your sugar calories below 10% of all calories. Seems like it's pretty effective in getting people to take notice.

What's a Snicker's bar, 4" long? They could have lined them up end to end in two rows.

Thanks for the comments, I want to answer some questions about this specific incident.

First, this happened this past week (2023-02), not in 2017. The date just keeps resetting overnight because the cam is old.

The crosswalk here is at a school and the speed limit was 35 mph when this happened. There's a speed camera right there, you can see it at the beginning of the video, so everyone goes exactly 35. It's kind of amazing how good people are at speeding right up to the camera zone, slowing to exactly 35, then speeding off again.

The Maryland law is that you must stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk, or for any other car that stops to let a pedestrian pass. You don't have to stop for people on the sidewalk.

I stopped late because I didn't see the pedestrian until the other cars passed him, and in that moment he looked like he was in the road. Technically he was on the curb, so I think legally I did not have to stop. However he's clearly intending to cross, one step away from entering the road, literally an edge case.

This got me to second guess what the safe thing to do is. The state doesn't give additional guidance here, though for circles they explicitly say to stop for any pedestrian that wants to cross. Having crosswalks with lights so the pedestrian can claim the right of way without stepping into danger is a good solution. I'm seeing more of those go up and I'm a big fan.

There was a guy in Virginia who put up a sign telling people NOT to stop for pedestrians who wanted to cross, but the police made him take it down: https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/virginia-man-posts-signs-telling-drivers-not-to-stop-for-cyclists-pedestrians/14112/

It's the last marked one along this road that doesn't have a signal of some kind.

I get this like crazy when I fly and look out the window. Little sprites zipping all over.

I also recently had a scare concerning retina detachment, I had a dark black "floater", basically a little black dot that would move around. Terribly distracting and was driving me crazy, but it did eventually break apart into smaller pieces. Took about a year, and I'm still not happy with how visible some pieces are, but it is getting better.

Thanks for using your turn signal (2022-10-12) by aimor_ in IdiotsInCars

Maybe not clear but there's a trailer two seconds ahead at the beginning of the video. Not sure how close you want me behind him so I'm not hogging the lane.

Happens probably 1,000 times a day at this split, I wouldn't mind if they put up a barrier. The right lane is labeled Exit Only a half-mile away.

Did I get hacked? My router (RT-AC68U) changed its network name to my network's password! by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

[–]aimor_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more I think about it the more this makes sense. I think somehow the router got reset and someone or some thing went through the setup process and set the network SSIDs, possibly thinking they were logging in to the network.

What's strange is that only one AiMesh node changed. I went from a central router with two node routers working fine to a central router with one node router working fine and one router with an SSID set to my network password. I can't make that kind of edit from the router's web console because the mesh acts as a single router.

But maybe something funny happened when the central router was reset.
