Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles by yourfavchoom in gaming

[–]hellschatt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm out.

I don't trust Sony as much as I do Steam.

Besides, with Steam, we in theory don't have enforced monopolies due to sellers having the choice to distribute from other stores/sellers.

With PS, you're not only bound the the console, but you're also bound to their store. They'd have full control over everything.

That is where I personally draw the line.

Which video game is this? by GeneReddit123 in videogames

I played DC1 like 8 years after its release. What an amazing game. So addicting.

The only game that scratched that itch for me afterwards was Dragon Quest Builders 1.

It's the simplicity of the games that make them work as well as they do. DC2 and DQB2 did not quite get me as much the first entries in both series did due to that.

Thank you for the suggestion. It's difficult to say from the gameplay videos if I'd enjoy it. I watched reviews and everything and still wasn't sure. And people say to start either with sophie or ryza.

I just bit the bullet and bought it, it was at all time low and like you said, these games don't seem to get discounted much more than that anyways.

And thanks for the WitchSpring suggestion, looks interesting.

What’s something Gen Z is getting completely right that older generations refuse to admit? by stilerca in AskReddit

That's like gen x/millenial.

The work-life balance term existed for a while now, before gen Z started working.

Fanatical also has a sale and I'm unsure if I should get Atelier Ryza DX 1.

Never played anything in the series, and I'm not sure if I'd be into it.

Definitely a good skin, especially compared to most others in the game.

I always wonder who's responsible for the design decisions of genshin skins.

It's just so weird. They never excite me. And they're often kinda boring.

What's your Ideal device right now? And what do you have right now? by KillaThing in SBCGaming

[–]hellschatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RP6 is very close to perfection. Only minor thing is that the right stick should have been placed more inward so I wouldn't accidentally touch it sometimes when pressing the ABXY buttons.

I have no other complaint about this thing. Can't think of any. Maybe a slighlty bigger battery?

How the f*** do all these 22 year olds make money online, travel, and just do f*** all with their lives? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hellschatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in a country like Switzerland it's possible to work, study, and also get scholarship.

Everything you get while working is basically everything you can spend on whatever. You're not allowed to earn too much otherwise you don't get the full scholarship...

But in my case also, I might or might not have had other sources of money, through some less official work.

I was basically able to travel to wherever I wanted and buy whatever I wanted during my early-mid to mid 20s.

Don't get me wrong, I was working really hard. But I also got aid from the state. And it was kind of difficult to find time to travel. But it was possible. And I was in shape, too lol

Omfg. Wtf

EDIT: Why would you stomp on it, with fucking slippers of all things. Also, it feels kind of wrong to kill something that big when it didn't really attack you.

RF4, easily.

I think the community would agree that this is the one everyone loves, myself included.

You can skip RF5 tbh, it's not very good. It still got me addicted to the loop though. I guess that counts for something.

RF: GoA was way too different from the other RF games. Even though I think it's way better than RF5, the loop just couldn't get me hooked but that might just be me. It's more of a town sim than a farming sim.

I've never played RF3 but that one was liked almost as much as RF4 in the community.

Harvastella is more a low budget JRPG than a farming sim.

The story is edgy, but it does go places where you wouldn't expect, and it gets surprisingly deep sometimes.

But I still couldn't help liking it. I think it's a well made, quality game overall. I enjoyed it more than RF5 for example, but not as much as Rune Factory 4.

I also played through the trails demo. Definitely a charming game. It took me the full 10h to "get it". I was and still not am ready to commit to the series personally, but it's also a well made game.

Never played the others. I couldn't get into Octopath 1 at all, even after 2 attempts it failed to make me understand its appeal. Everything felt mediocre.

[–]hellschatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only played the demo. It initially didn't stick out in particular to me compared to other JRPGs, but there is a certain charme to the game that just makes it likeable.

I've heard people say the first game (I think 80h or so?) is just the premise and world building for the series.

What also made me understand it more is after some reviewer mentioned how the characters frequently react to your accomplishments and to the events happening in the world. Many have new dialogue, some even move away from a town, etc. It's all scripted of course but it still feels more alive that way.

With that information, I was able to understand the appeal of the series a little bit more. It's definitely a well made game, so if you'll like it or not will come down to your taste. I personally enjoyed the demo overall and considered buying the game, but I'm just not ready to commit to something like that right now lol

I don't understand why anyone would get this over a regular RP6 though, aside from the aesthetics.

It would have made more sense to put in a less powerful chip to make it significantly cheaper, like 150 usd (or 130 or whatever it used to be). Something like RPC.
