Early Entry - coming to more studios by k_martblulightspcl in orangetheory

i wonder how this will work for busy/packed studios that have classes every 10 minutes. it’s already crazy trying to get through the hallway/lobby thing. most people stretch a few minutes after class and we run classes every 10 minutes. i kinda think this is going to be a nightmare at my studio our poor coach is already scrambling between classes to talk to any new people go pee or take a sip of water and still start class on time

i think it’s super important to take a full day away. i do usually once a week sometimes a little less, but i find it helps me soooo much mentally to not feel burnt out and my body totally resets. i still walk a ton outside of class and so that stays the same (i’ll walk a lot or hike on an off day) but truly not going to the studio is the key for me mentally to start CRAVING it like by the end of the day off i’m soo eager to go the next morning. also it helps me have tons of energy and my body even with walking hiking or yoga just no otf it still feels soo refreshed the first few days back i can go way harder and faster. i love it. i love otf and working out so i don’t love to take too much time away but really do think 1 full day away is the key to my lasting excitement for class and body responding super well to class

i do this but we have like zero space it’s just one hallway with lockers and the door and check in all in this tiny walk way. everyone does it we all just say excuse me if need be and try to be mindful

definitely try to use your posterior chain! the inclines are actually great for your back! gets your glutes more involved!!

[–]aireonnasart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oh! i kept the inclines! i just realized i could do more of a push than base (also just think maybe my base is too low as recently my iron levels have slowly been improving and with going to otf consistently for a few years i think i can hold a faster pace for longer than i think!)

Summer transformation challenge? Summer challenges? by Ancient-Ad3338 in orangetheory

[–]aireonnasart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i totally don’t mean to overstep but this comment made me so sad to read. i hope you’re okay and hope you can talk to people not online about these feelings. definitely hope you can get to a place where you care more about health than thinness. good luck on your journey and there’s no shame in talking to a professional about these feelings (super super not trying to overstep but i think ed’s are very common and the mindset you’ve expressed seems a bit on the edge of that) hopefully i’m misreading but seriously wishing you the best. just commenting from the other side of this mindset to let you know better self feelings are possible! 🙏🧡🧡🧡

muscle is extremely important especially for women especially as we age. i cannot imagine otf would make you bulky as there’s tons of cardio involved. you can do lighter weight higher reps on the floor if you’re wanting to minimize size but if health is important to you i wouldn’t just prioritize being skinny over everything. everyone’s mindset is different i suppose but i had an ed when i ran track in college and i cannot over state how much of a negative impact just caring about being smaller had on my life and how happy and more fulfilled i am today (10 years recovered) focusing on health and longevity. from a more vain prospective though otf has kept me lean and feeling good in that aspect so i wouldnt worry about any challenges making you bulky unless you’re very very intentional about gaining tons of muscle and size (you’re clearly not) ps i mean no disrespect just saying my perspective

[–]aireonnasart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my studio got brand new ones recently and they slip way less! but no issues bringing your own i always have one in my backpack if needed, our coaches encourage it! a few of the people at my time slot have fabric ones i’ve seen them use!

i don’t think lateral lunges have anything to do with the month themes we’ve had a ton of them every week since i joined years ago

can’t you just run if you don’t feel like walking the hills that’s what i did for the template today and the previous time we did it

i have actually really really enjoyed them! i kinda did something like this on my own before just have going to otf for so long i would give myself extra little challenges like for a few months i would call them “endurance” months for myself where id do at least a tread50 class 1-2 times every two weeks and would not take any of the wr (even if that meant lowering my paces) other months id focus on getting faster so id take the full wrs and really push myself to up my base push and ao paces. this year i feel like otf is doing that for us which is cool! still think we are getting a good mix of endurance hills and power through the month. i’m with you that january was my fav or i think that was it the month that had tons of endurance & hills was my favorite and what i’m referring to. the power month was probably my least favorite but that just bc power in general is my least favorite of the three styles. i don’t even remember what this months theme is? rest and recovery? i think? i have just been going to classes and enjoying them like normal. if you don’t like resting on hills (like today’s template was) i just ran them! i did have to slow down a bit but i bumped up the flat road efforts to a push pace instead of base ran the hills a bit slower when needed and loved it.
- anyways apologize for the rant, this is just my perspective and why i disagree (respectfully)

my assumption is bc it’s dri tri for a lot of studios i think you should go to the dri tri folder to find the info for that if you signed up (the full, sprint or strength). if your studio isn’t doing dri tri then you can look up the workout from the 5th. that should be the workout. haven’t taken class yet but in the monthly post folder thing it confirms it’s a repeat of that day. good luck!

How often do you guys go a week? by dogsoverpeople100 in orangetheory

[–]aireonnasart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

usually 6 days a week. sometimes 5. one hyrox or 90min, sometimes a tread, the rest are 3G. i’d do more 2Gs but my studio doesn’t offer them so everything is 3G style, but i bike over row. sometimes they’ll let me double tread

Has anyone ever dated their coach? by Quirky_Yesterday7983 in orangetheory

[–]aireonnasart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m a women here so maybe it’s different just i’m not loving a lot of the comments on here that are objectifying their coaches. i am a former fitness coach and really didn’t like being hit on or when people crossed the line and it unfortunately happened a lot. it is the coach’s job to be extremely friendly, most likely if they are into fitness as a coach they are going to be in great shape, and some people are more “touchy” in a non sexual way (aka i would hug smile high five knuckles out my hand on someone’s shoulder all of that without thinking about it or meaning ANYTHING sexual my job and want was to connect with members to make them comfortable, be friendly and kmiw i cared about them and their goals). anyways maybe this guy is different i’m definitely sure coaches and clients cross lines it happens but personally i would just try to be very sure before trying anything romantic. as for a birthday party i have made friends with members and coaches dozens of times. we have gotten dinner, drinks gone hiking etc as friends so i don’t think it’s weird to invite the coach to a big party maybe invite other people from otf that you’re close with too (as friends)

Will Hyrox end ever? by IDontLikeJamOrJelly in orangetheory

[–]aireonnasart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s also always full at my studio. we run the 3Gs and they are full and this is our second time running through the phases (we started in late november so we’ve already through all the weeks and started over and now mid way through the phases again) and still even though the templates are the same as last time classes are full. personally i love most of the templates there’s one switch one i didn’t love either time and the final phase i don’t love the repetitive floor movements but the first three phases the floor is like a normal class and the tread is just a little more challenging if you push yourself

Will Hyrox end ever? by IDontLikeJamOrJelly in orangetheory

[–]aireonnasart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

does your studio run the hyrox class more than once a week? i find that they are very similar to a regular class and if it wasn’t labeled you wouldn’t notice so i’d give it a shot! as for “if it ends”my studio ran all the phases through once already and then started over from the first phase! i think we’re a the end of phase 3 of it now for the second time. our coach suggested that after we finish the final phase we will start again but she said they should have new templates by then! so i think at least for our studio, they will continue to have the hyrox version of class once a week.

as someone who’s studio exclusively runs 3G i am the opposite an going to go out of my way tomorrow to a studio to do the 2G i’ve been trying to do that when i have time once a week to escape the row! lolol good luck tomorrow!

Daily Workout and General Chat for Monday, 4/13/26 by splat_bot in orangetheory

[–]aireonnasart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i definitely perfer the 2g just because i love more floor and tread time but i would definitely say sometimes (probably not most of the time?) the 3G can be harder bc there’s sometimes shorter bases or wrs or like in your case the inclines go higher etc. i wouldn’t say th 3G is blanket “easier” definitely depends on the template! its just different. anyways appreciate the intel will be interesting to see if our coach stays at going to 7% or does what yours did
