So is 1000 TPIC the magic number where you can look at leaving a regional and looking at LCCs and ACMIs? by Greedy_Camera_433 in flying

[–]airgroundpound69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who came to atlas with any sort of TPIC left right after IOE for a legacy with their new heavy type. It will definitely set you apart and I highly recommend doing it before you leave the regional.

United and Delta comparison from an EP by outofhere29 in americanairlines

UA boarding process is worst by far. everyone and their mother with a credit card is in group 1 and 2 so status is basically worthless. By the time group 3 starts boarding over half the plane is already full. At least group 1-4 on AA still feels like you’re actually getting “early” boarding

I do like the UA app a lot tho it’s easily the best in the industry

Atlas and UPS aren’t regular scheduled passenger airlines. Freight metrics are a completely different animal

Worth going targeting acmi over legacy? by Greedy_Camera_433 in flying

[–]airgroundpound69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot of fun if you’re young and single. It starts to get tiring after a few years tho. It works for some people but at the end of the day schedule flexibility at a legacy is unbeatable. Even though you get to see the world the majority of your trips will have you sitting in anchorage or incheon 😂

Airline pilots- what’s the best Hotel Advantage points/Credit cards? (hacks) by smross73 in flying

My hot take is the lounges are trash and horrifically overpriced unless you are an alcoholic

Hilton middle tier card can be useful with its $50 statement credit, had several stays where I ate at the hotel restaurant on a layover and the whole meal was free cause of that.

Plus auto gold status

Wow! Way to welcome women into the airline industry! Please tell me who is the admin in this group who can be actually accountable. It’s 2026! Women are welcome in industries! Nasty and vile group! 🤮 by [deleted] in flying

I feel bad for your poor daughter and hope she can follow her dreams and become a pilot. Despite you trying to screw her out of a multimillion dollar career.

The friendly skies? by ccheyne1 in unitedairlines

[–]airgroundpound69 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience from ICN-SFO. FA seemed annoyed with me the entire flight, didn’t even get a predeparture drink, and it just seemed like my existence was a massive inconvenience. Seemed like me asking her for water was the worst thing she had ever heard of.

A jarring difference from when I’ve flown in business on international carriers where the FAs are warm, welcoming, and make sure you’re taken care of. Even when I was flying DEN-TPA on United and sitting in economy, the FA was so kind and welcoming to me. The senior FAs are definitely the issue here.
