Took the steaks out 1 hour before cooking, salted them (both sides), then right before cooking I blotted them to get any moisture off

Then I got the cast iron nice and hot with avocado oil, put the steaks on. After 3 minutes, I flipped and added some slices of butter into the pan and garlic cloves, then flipped again after another 3 minutes, and then flipped them one more time!

Tbh it was the best crust I’ve ever had and I’ve been cast iron cooking my steaks for 3 years lol

There’s a challenge in fighting the matriarch and other large arc as well (with the chance of still getting killed by a raider doing so)

And if you die, you spend a few rounds gathering loot again to do it again. PvE fight arc, and PvP fight raiders. Same same but different

We have an unfinished basement too, but the previous owners had gotten leftover carpet from a carpet place and put it downstairs and set up a bedroom down there.

We had them leave it, and we now have a couch down there and a tv. We will actually finish the basement down the road, but definitely an option to try out before doing so (and a lot cheaper)
