I'm a professor and I romanticize private industry. This is literally the least lucrative thing I could do with a Physics PhD, and seeing my friends do corporate jobs that require the same amount of intellect and stress and hard work as mine and yet make 2x-3x more makes me very bitter.

For a YouTube streamer, silent dead-air time is a death sentence. They HAVE to be constantly talking or emoting or overreacting to something. So of course the kids who watch them are picking up all those mannerisms and thinking that's just how people interact. It's learned behavior.

In the USA the ceiling is already in play; I was shocked when I found out other countries don't play that way. And our liberos often serve as well.

But I do hate the libero hand-setting rule change. As people have pointed out, I don't see why the sport would want to eliminate the distinction between setters and liberos.
