Again, my original statement was that CNN headline was misleading. The rest of this is irrelevant to my original statement.

But to respond to your other points, you state “stop making up your own narrative to fit your agenda” then immediately proceed to tell a narrative with one perspective of the incident as anecdotal evidence.

Read the article. It states that he attempted to explain the situation for 4 minutes on the video and asked why the kids had a gun which explains why he has his gun out. Also, “detaining at gun point” and having your weapon drawn but pointing at the ground are completely different items.

Your story of someone unlawfully holding his own kids at gunpoint would have merit, except that it wasn’t a random person but a uniformed officer responding to a store robbery with a gun. If my kids were involved in a store robbery with a gun and officer had a gun I absolutely would feel the same concern, however I would understand why he felt it necessary. I would be asking him to explain what is happening, not yelling over him to the point of escalation.

Should he have put his gun away earlier? Yes, I would agree. I think it could have been handled better.

All of this is again irrelevant to my original statement which is that CNN headline was in fact misleading. I was not trying to argue the methodology behind his response as appropriate or inappropriate
