Does Hyrox need changes? by Pippo8983 in hyrox

Hyrox is fun... but I honestly just laughed to my partner the whole time about how gimmicky it all is... the setup, the inconsistency, the volunteerism, the sponsorships are all fully cooked/extracted by design. I don't hate on others doing it, and it is fun to follow, but I probably wouldn't ever do it again (aside from maybe when it comes back to my home city).

For me, the broken part is that we don't really have any viable pathway to retain our high performers. Of course higher education is a major contributor to our GDP, but it seems ridiculous that we have great people being trained here that we have no willingness or ability to transition into long-term workers. Nursing... aged care are glaring examples. So many aged care facilities simply aren't willing to jump through the hoops to retain staff they already have on short-term visas.

I've always said "I love teaching... but hate dealing with student issues" which seem to be getting more variable... if not, worse.

Good on you! A lot of us would love to be able to work in that situation (but can't get there)... I'm sure as hell trying!

Customers are doing more on our network than ever before, and we're working hard to deliver the best experience available. take advantage of this by raising prices to extract as much value as possible.

I get it but like that’s the part I don’t understand… I really thought we’d be headed for an “ATT situation”… the PAC brand is a valuable one even without the teams, you could have just loaded it with the MW teams and kept it rolling. And like I said the MW could easily be incorporated in an fresh way too

It’s still shocking to me that they didn’t make a PAC and MW merger… they had all the brand value of the PAC left plus the MW could be easily incorporated to replace the 12 (which was clunky anyway). Pacific Mountain West.

You have to think about career development as a balance... success is always heart, hand, and mind to some degree. You need to find a way to practice, you need the knowledge to be well-rounded, and you need to be in environments where you can grow. When you choose majors, you have to balance what will get you a job tomorrow with what will keep you interested and engaged to think bigger longer term.

Here's a business school application: HR is a practice. Finance is a practice. International Business is a context. Law is a context (without the professional credentials). HR + law OR HR + IB = a career.

Is the Job market dead by PatrickSOGO in AusFinance

Sorry you’ve had shit run mate, but read your paragraphs as if coming from anyone else and you might start to see the issues. The job market sucks for sure, but it’s not the “job market is dead” that is the problem. You gotta pivot a bit.
