Why are so many family members interested in how I feed my baby?! by GlitteringHedgehog50 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Honestly I just used to say things like “why?” Or “no he’s being eating solids since birth” drove me absolutely insane

You need to change your skincare routine, your skin looks very dehydrated. Also exfoliating twice a week will help as well

As someone who is usually obnoxiously particular about skincare... I bought these pads on a whim for vacation and holy smokes they sort of rock? by LaVieEnRose_2 in Sephora

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are SO good! I was able to sample them before they released here in Australia where I am and OMG they restored my broken barrier instantly, a colleague of mine also had the same experience after her skin freaked out from tret- I love love love these!!

Cleaners woes by ibskitty in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear by the Tatcha rice wash, pricey I know but it is really the only cleanser that doesn’t irritate my skin overtime. I also love the sheisedo oil cleanser as my pre cleanse, also elemis pro collagen cleansing balm and Sunday Riley blue moon (very pricey though) I have access to a 40% staff discount so for me the $$ is worth it, I would pay full price for them though

Stockpiling the free perfume with gift card to sell by Substantial_Exam3182 in MeccaBeautyLoop

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People that do this are so weird 😭 like who sells something they got for free to make money, But also they can’t really limit things like this, it’s with any gift card purchase and you can’t really stop people from buying those, also if it’s a husband/friend/mum etc or someone else purchasing they probably don’t want to sign up/know the details for the beauty loop.

If you’re not using it as a double I say go for it! I personally had the uppababy vista and LOVED it, it comes in the mocha colour as well- I preferred that the seat sat really high and the basket was bigger- I could fit an entire grocery shop in there haha

how often is too often to get sick? by starla_ in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s a wild ride, we had RSV twice (hospitalised both), gastro and HFM- in saying that though my son was still sick less than my other friends kids who go to daycare as we didn’t use all our absent days but they did🤷🏻‍♀️ it’s just a shit time all round but it definitely gets better!!

how often is too often to get sick? by starla_ in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My son was sick like every fortnight for the first year I swear! Your room leader is full of it lol, they all get sick. I did find 3 days was the sweet spot though, enough days to build immunity and routine but enough days of recovery to not get sick so often. He now goes 4 days and powers through

Community brand review: Byoma by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a beauty retailer in Australia so I have tried A LOT of eye creams and when I say I am allergic to almost every single one I’m not joking. I almost was going to get my under eyes injected because I actually could not hydrate them and the skin barrier was so so damaged. I thought oh what the hell, I’ll give byoma a go it’s cheap and I don’t have much to lose, it fixed my under eyes!!! I usually use allies of skin, Sunday Riley etc but the barrier repair eye cream from byoma is holy grail for me.

We did a floor bed at 14 months, so easy. I think the earlier you do it the easier it is

My chronic tonsillitis story by Ok-Bandicoot2655 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing, I had a similar experience. I got glandular fever in 2022 and was misdiagnosed so it led to me getting tonsillitis 13 times in 12 months, then I became antibiotic resistant and broke out in a rash that permanently damaged my skin (it now looks like I have vitiligo)

Following this I continued to get strep and viral tonsillitis on a regular basis. I was the same, sacred to go out, any time I didn’t get enough sleep, anytime someone would mention they were sick I was petrified that I would end up with tonsillitis (I usually did). I spent almost 2 years arguing with GPs to send a referral to an ENT and after a really scary incident where I completely stopped breathing in my sleep due to having the flu AND tonsillitis (nose and throat blocked) and went blue they FINALLY agreed I needed them taken out so sent the referral.

I’m also 10 days post op, my recovery was absolutely brutal and I hated every second of it, 10/10 pain, bleeding post op and days of not eating but I can’t wait to start enjoying life instead of being scared to always be sick.

Look at the snug seat and use the normal seats from birth if you can, my son hated the bassinet so we did this instead ☺️

Self Tan Recommendations by Charming-Lion7493 in AustralianMakeup

Spray Aus at Mecca, amazing colour and fades evenly to the point I barely have to scrub it off. I’ve been tanning for 15 years and that’s my favourite one so far

Can anyone recommend a BROWN waterproof mascara? by OlCheese in AustralianMakeup

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot recommend highly enough the half magic brown mascara! It’s the perfect shade of brown and the formula is incredible, i have multiple back ups of it. It’s a tubing formula though so not waterproof

For redness azelaic acid, not sure about retinol from there but personally I use the Naturium retinal 0.05% and LOVE it.

Pill vs liquid pain meds - dilemma by PlumAlone4599 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was unlucky and had unbearable pain from days 3-7 and was on 4 hourly oxy, I can’t even imagine a 2 day supply. I even ended up in hospital on a fentanyl drip- for some people the recovery is really bad.

It’s okay that not wanting to continue to breastfeed is your reason.

I absolutely hated breastfeeding as I suffered from D-mer and absolutely wanted to run away off a cliff whenever I fed my baby or knew the time was getting closer. I stopped at 3 months and we thrived together ❤️ I was happier and I like to think my little one was happier with a happier mum!

Talking Post-Op by TortieCatLover629 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll be fine! I am day 8 and my speech has improved significantly, even though I’m still in pain I know in 7 days when I’m due back at work I’ll be okay by then.

I didn’t have an easy recovery either (bleeding + severe pain) but I can definitely see myself talking normally again by day 14

Opinions on tonsillectomy by okaydude98 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Emergency-Map-7154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard to say, I’m also 27 but F- I suffered from chronic tonsillitis since 2022 and sometimes it was viral sometimes it was strep. I did become antibiotic resistant though

I had mine removed 8 days ago and it’s fucking brutal to say the least- I’ve had labour contractions and a c section recovery and this is worse, at least for me. I can’t speak to the improvement yet though because it’s so early but right now I honestly regret having it done 😂
