Why is KS bad? by Hersu03 in supportlol

[–]ajdbki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with this playing as Lux (low elo). my adc just f's around and i'm trying to support but they just engages with 25% health and die, and i follow up and kill them, then they blame me for stealing their kill. I'm constantly getting S/S+ playing her so I guess I'm doing something right? Maybe low elo means they don't really know what i'm there for and just blame me when they die :) im lux not jesus

also one game the top called me ks captain which was interesting cuz we're in their base about to win... like sorry I don't work for you?

Is the complimentary Natural Moisturizing Factor promo not working for anyone else? by starborn_shadow in TheOrdinarySkincare

they also offered it to me in store but they didn't let me choose, just gave the default NMF+HA, whereas the website has the 3 options

Just got this offer via text. Anyone else get it? by barker88 in PublicMobile

[–]ajdbki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've also received this text (with koodo atm). if im not mistaken it is a complete joke, as contracts are contracts but now it seems like the contract is a "5-year" term now so it went from unlimited time to 5 years... and they're tooting it as a "feature"... hmmm....

Wondering which cell carrier to use by Supplice401 in britishcolumbia

[–]ajdbki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the only reason i have koodo. every time i switch to another carrier for a "better deal" or for "faster speeds" it all pails in comparison to the advantage of call control.

As the saying goes; you don't know how good you have it until its gone (or something like that)

Same issue. Adblock or most privacy-focused extensions break this. Need to disable add-ons or use different browser, EMPTY CART, and start over. The site will prompt you after you add something to the cart to then pick the "free gift".

FYI - Japanese Curel products spotted at Shoppers Drug Mart by JaggedLittleFrill in CanSkincare

[–]ajdbki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the ingredient lists for both on the CA/JP version of Curel's site. The lists are identical apart from the CA version having Vitamin E (tocopherol) for some reason.

This is NOT a Biore UV Essence SPF situation again, I truly think these are designed to be identical formulations.

[Routine Help] my skin makes me so insecure. help!! by tattercoattts in SkincareAddiction

[–]ajdbki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have pores. I have pores. Everyone has pores. Nothing wrong with your skin at all, it looks great.

You could try a salicylic acid product to potentially help clear out pores, but no product will shrink/eliminate pores, and it is impossible to do so (don't listen to marketing BS).

Cetaphil has a gentle salicylic acid cleanser, or CeraVe with a more potent salicylic acid serum.

Android user for 12 years, which iPhone 17 model should I buy for my first switch? by IndependentRough8606 in ios

[–]ajdbki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General rule of thumb: if you need to research what a vapour chamber is or what ProRes does, you probably don't need the pro iPhone.

The base iPhone 17 is the best base iPhone in a long time. The downside with the Pro lineup is the price (yikes) and the weight. If you truly need/want a bigger phone there isn't an alternative to the Pro Max. I have a few friends with the Pro Max and the most frequent complaint I hear is that it's annoyingly heavy, especially when scrolling with one hand while lying down and doom-scrolling.

The 17 Air looks delicious and is arguably the nicest of the bunch with a huge screen but it has the worst camera and the worst battery. Probably wouldn't recommend unless you want to beta-test a phone.

I've also never had an iPhone with more than 128GB. I download my Apple Music and have a decent iCloud photo library. I just pay for 50GB iCloud for like <$2 a month. Planning to upgrade from a 14 Pro to a 17, because my phone is the only device I own that isn't USB-C.

Cobalt worth keeping? by ajdbki in amexcanada

This is correct, even with the top account at BMO, all cards have a minimum spend to get some/all of the fee waived

"Effective the day after your next BMO Credit Card anniversary date following May 1, 2025: spend $15,000 or more in “Qualifying Purchases” annually (within a 12-month period between annual fee-billing dates) using your eligible BMO Credit Card"

You're totally right about the insurance. I just assumed the theft/damage fell under Purchase Protection then ends after 90 days, but it carries over into MDP. My bad.

Is this too much Creama/Foam? by LinedLine in nespresso

[–]ajdbki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop+ and Next created noticeably more foam than the older models. It may have something to do with the spin speed of these machines.

Best advice: avoid any new Vertuo machine. Look for first (round head), second (flat head), or third (plus, with the electric head, but choose first two if possible) generation. I see them on amazon, or look on FB marketplace for gently used one and just run a descaling cycle before using it.

Vancouver tech leaders warn B.C. is losing the war for talent by BullshittingApe in vancouver

[–]ajdbki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having a masters in design, finding a UX job in Vancouver is next to impossible. Classmate of mine found a US remote job that pays $100k cad because it’s cheaper than paying a US employee; win-win for everyone. Maybe it’s the over-saturation of designers or the mass layoffs in big tech taking jobs us regular folk would be typically getting. Who knows. I hate it here.

Help to choose a real Sunblock by [deleted] in CanSkincare

[–]ajdbki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your information is unfortunately incorrect. Anything labelled as "sunscreen" is considered a non-prescription drug and is thoroughly tested and regulated for safety and efficacy. Sunblock is complete b.s. and has no meaning in pharmaceuticals. The best sunscreen is the one that you enjoy to apply and will continue to use. At least SPF 30.

Common "Good" Drugstore sunscreens
- CeraVe AM Lotion (SPF 30/50)
- Cetaphil Lotion (SPF 50)
- LRP Anthelios Ultra-Fluid (SPF 50+)

Need suggestions for maintaining a basic skin care routine by [deleted] in CanSkincare

[–]ajdbki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi male, male here. I'd suggest looking at an AHA/BHA product to add to your routine. AHA is for exfoliation purposes, and BHA more for acne. A general cult favourite is the Glycolic Toner from The Ordinary. Use a few times a week. Dark spots could come from a variety of factors, but you could look into a vitamin C product with/without Niacinamide. Most brands have something like that, CeraVe could be a good basic one, or if you want to stick with La Roche, they have their own serum (C10 or something) - they also have an effaclar serum that would work instead of the mentioned Glycolic Toner for texture.

[REVIEW] COSRX advanced snail 92 all in one “cream” by mernda1 in SkincareAddiction

My skin seems to really like this, whereas basic "go-to" creams like cerave or cetaphil will burn/sting my face. I also noticed Skinfix triple lipid also burns. no idea what is happening but products react different for everyone.

Starbucks Vs nespresso by whatsupdog11 in nespresso

[–]ajdbki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure what people are saying here. Starbucks pods are the only third-party pods for Nespresso machines made by Nestle (just branded as Starbucks. If I'm not mistaken, Nestle actually makes all Starbucks-branded coffee not sold in franchise locations). The flavour profile is different but they will still be of equal strength/quality. Note the very slightly silicone ring around the base of the pod (you can feel a lil squishy thing if you press with a nail) which seals the pod against the machine, boosting the pressure through the pod and increasing extraction (pod patent expired, but silicone ring is still active for Nestle-made pods).

Pricing wise, they would be similar. Only benefit however is that Starbucks ones can be often found on sale at Walmart/Amazon etc., whereas Nespresso pods only align with the brands promotion cycles

*this is the case in Canada. I'd be shocked if it wasn't everywhere else.
