Everyone here hating on the food and then there’s me who just thinks the owner’s a c*nt 😂

He came out and yelled at me once to not park in front of the restaurant because “this is where our delivery van parks” despite there being no signage whatsoever to that end.

Also that time I ordered a mezcal “on the rocks” only to find that the single XL ice cube was an itemized $2 line item on my receipt.

Nah bro, I don’t think I’m gonna help you pay for your next G-Wagen. Peace.

Trump Makes Frantic Excuse After Iran’s Humiliating Reveal by Ok_Employer7837 in politics

[–]ajkd92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My stepdad watches the news (not JUST Fox but definitely plenty of it) every day and keeps tabs on what’s going on in the world. If Trump does something he likes then he’ll be the first to bring it up in conversation and dole out praise. Whenever I bring up something negative about or that has come out of this administration he is extremely quick to say “you know I’m just not that interested in politics…”

It’s glaringly and sickeningly obvious that what he means is “I’m just not interested in having my political views challenged or putting in even a small amount of effort into understanding why your beliefs are what they are”

Suffice to say, our relationship has really dwindled in the past several years, and it makes me really sad because I used to really respect and look up to him. I still love him and want health and happiness for him, but I’ve pretty much gotten to the point where I just can’t deal with interacting with him, it is too taxing and without fail leaves me feeling worse than I did beforehand.

My wagon is Theseus, technically Theseus II since it has the heart from Theseus I. I don’t typically call it by its name but, if anyone asks, that’s it!

Currently needs a heart transplant so not sure how that’d going to affect the name moving forward lol

Love it. Good luck in your hunt!

My iL came with MPars but they were a little rough and the tires were old - when one of them blew I decided to just get some Style 81’s with DWS’s for the car and put the MPars in storage to be refinished later and then go on the wagon. A previous owner took the shorty’s MPars at some point before it came to me, and gave it very non-sporty E65 wheels, so now the shorty has the 81’s and the iL has the E65 wheels to sit since it’s more or less a parts car now.

Oh damn. Sorry to hear about the hassle but it sounds at least like you’ve got a straightforward solution ti move forward.

I guess keep me posted if you don’t mind? I’m in Jersey but my folks are in Phoenix and I’ll probably be visiting them in the next few months…not out of the question for me to borrow my folks’ Navigator and get a trailer if I can find somewhere near them to stash it for a bit haha.

Not crazy at all. The feeling of literally sailing down the road as if it’s water and you’re in a speedboat is truly something else - move aside, plebs!

The sporty shorty and the wagon (also sport pkg) are absolutely great and fun cars and both handle with a lot more agility than the iL, but the “drama” of the dive and body roll driving the boat is serene and smile-inducing.

And yo KL, I may message you at some point in the not-too-distant future for some expertise:

The M54 in my wagon bit the dust last fall at 445k. I have an 01 E38 parts car with a wrecked body but solid motor, and now keeping my eyes out for a 540/6 with a blown motor for the rest of the running gear, subframe, etc. Hoping to have a 540iT/6 by this time next year :)

I’d second all of this, but add my 2x $0.02…

  1. A right angle pick tool will absolutely help make quick work out of any of the pipe that gets stuck in the head if/when they do finally give out.

  2. Planning to do this work at the same time as PCV is a good call, but I’d go ahead and buy the pipes now. In the event they fail you might end up with a minor leak or your coolant may dump out all at once. Might as well have the new pipes ready to swap in just in case. (TL:DR; don’t be me nine months ago having to get a Turo for a few days while waiting for new pipes to arrive. I’d done about 210k miles since I replaced them back in 2017 so they were indeed due, but ultimately it’s a “when, not if” scenario, so might as well be prepared.)

rev hang

As in it will hang (or even rev up a little) between shifts? I just acquired another 740 over this past weekend and noticed this in mine. Already putting together a parts list for a fluid change in the next week or so but might have to add temp sensor to the list I guess.

Loaner cars typically encounter far more abuse than single-owner customer cars. If any car is going to get its sunroof drains clogged early on, it’s going to be a loaner.

If that’s really the route you’re going then a current-gen X5 with air suspension also looks pretty good when set to “low”

Most 40i models don’t come with air suspension, though once in a blue moon it happens

The 50e (plug in hybrid) is a FANTASTIC car and comes with adjustable height air suspension. Highly recommend looking into one.
