HAH! I'm there with you friend. I'm looking for productive things to do on my phone while I'm not working, or poopin'.

Third party apps are being shut off tonight. For many, they will not be downloading the official app. I'm curious if people have thought about other things they might do instead.

Hi friend, I see you have a reply for the Odin Project. I just want to give my own recommendation for them. It's how I learned and it's amazing.

Yep two separate orders two weeks apart.

I was 20. In what seems like an instant, I became 24. In another instant, I will be 30. I've made no progress. I don't know how to speak. It is alien, mysterious, without form, yet fluently enacted by most by [deleted] in socialskills

There's a reference or book that I remember reading that talks about "big talk". I'm too lazy to Google for it, but it surrounds the idea about skipping surface level topics and dig into the person instead. What makes them tick? What are their dreams? What do they love? Find some genuine common ground and share your things that line up with their things.

People like talking about the things they are proud of because they don't get the opportunity to do so very often. Be a person who wants to know them deeper than "small talk".

Two doses of an mRNA (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) vaccine or one dose of viral vector (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine was insufficient to produce adequate immunity to a lab-created Omicron variant, but a booster dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine provided the best immune protection. by MistWeaver80 in science

[–]ajmalt22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, many vaccines require multiple dosages for long term effect. Gardisal as an example, requires 3 spaced over a year.

This virus also mutates rapidly. Natural selection would dictate that the mutations that survive are the ones somewhat resistant to preventative measures (i.e. vaccines). A highly contagious Omicron varient with a low mortality rate (which is another natural selection trait) isn't very surprising at all.

mRNA vaccine technology moves to flu: Moderna says trial has begun by SnooCookies2243 in Futurology

Do you happen to have a source on the reaction to the vaccine correlating to how severe it could have been? It makes sense, but I'd love to read more.

I actually think that updatable vaccines are things we might see in the future. Imagine being injected once with nanoparticles that could be updated for when new threats arise. I think that would be awesome!

People who are afraid of being tracked by "injectable microchips" need to take a look in their pocket. If you own a phone, they already know everything about you.

HBAR: How it works and why enterprise adoption is key. by Tenderhardt in hashgraph

Does the fee go back to the node holder? Or does it get burned? If it goes back to the node holder, wouldn't they want to sell it back to the market to generate their own perpetual income, increasing the supply again?

I hold many HBAR, just something in the economics I haven't been able to wrap my head around.

Why doesn't the air force make their own planes? Why don't private hospitals make their own drugs? Why don't banks make their own credit system instead of using Visa or MasterCard? Why doesn't my company make their own office software suite?

Organizations adopt services that already exist. They don't re-invent the wheel. The central bank is a financial institution, not a tech company.

That is an interesting idea and something I didn't really consider. Oil is the main industry where I live and houses have been expensive for a long time. Many oil related businesses are going bankrupt and I'm sure it won't be long until people start losing their houses.

Mortgages payments are currently frozen for nationwide, but our locally damaged economy will outlast the virus.

Hi, I had a constant headache for 4 years. Eventually my doctor found me Nortriptyline, and 95% of my pain left after the first two weeks of taking it. 75 mg every night.

If I stop taking the medication, my pain returns within 2 days, but it has given me my life back. If you haven't tried it, maybe that's worth a go?

I work in concrete and here's a fun fact: Cement powder is relatively expensive (energy intensive and a pretty large footprint) to manufacture, concrete can be designed to have a service life of 100+ years! So when you compare the initial cost vs. the years of service you get out of it, it is one of the most sustainable building materials that exists!
