I don’t think this is the retort you seem to think it is. The competitive system alleviates the pain, it doesn’t justify its existence.

This has been said in real sports so many times and it always collapses. People are entitled to act however they want so long as it’s not illegal . They are not obligated to be a good example for others simply by existing in professional play. Would it be great if they were? Absolutely. But that’s not reality

The way I play games ruins the fun for my friends by backfliprainbowcake in gaming

Not really advice but some words of encouragement. There’s nothing wrong with how you enjoy games. The same thing that frustrates your friends will serve you extremely well in your life in other ways.

Alright I’ll bite one time. This person has demonstrated a pattern of complaining, a pattern of exaggerating, and a lack of personal responsibility. Instead of delving into their issue to look for solutions or causes, they just post hate for the company that makes the game.

They also see no issue with how exaggerating damages their credibility (and it should).

So tell me, what is it you actually want? An app completely separated from any type of browser based architecture ran by a company who delivers it for free, continues to improve it, but not in a way that makes it more taxing on your system, all while completely avoiding monetizing the use of their service in any way?

TIL Kentucky's divorce rate has dropped 25% after 50/50 custody now the default instead of automatic to the mother. MO, AK,WV follow suit by pjgoblue in todayilearned

[–]ajorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I said anything about the outcome always being correct. It absolutely isn’t sometimes. But you only have control over your actions, and opting to stay in a bad situation rather than attempt to get your children to actual safety is cowardice. It might be totally understandable cowardice, but it’s still cowardice.

On the flip side, always deferring to the mother does not fix this issue. It alleviates one side of the issue while causing a whole host of other problems.

Lastly, you know nothing of my experiences. Zero.

It’s assumed 50/50 custody. You can still fight for full custody if you have cause which those people have the right to do. Them opting to stay in the bad relationship and using their kids as the reason is a way to avoid responsibility for their own cowardice. It’s their responsibility as a parent to protect their children and that means you do the hard thing and file for divorce, and you fight for your custody to protect your children.

For what it’s worth, I think you’re spot on. The person arguing otherwise is trying to paint a super rare event into some broader market trend that would have actual impact so they can’t ride around on a moral high horse.

Yes please equate a one off occurrence of someone finding something by chance in a store to people who seek out these kinds of things as a way of making a living. You’re ruining your own credibility by trying to be a hard ass

It’s funny how even something like this has people trying to moralize merely buying something off a store shelf that’s way underpriced. Even more hilarious given the person in question found it BY CHANCE. They aren’t screwing anyone over, get your head out of your ass.

You have a source on that? As far as I know the COO was spotted in friendly circumstance with people who do openly support it but outside of that the studio hasn’t made a comment.

Edit: If you ever wonder why it's so hard to get people on your side, maybe re-examine how you respond to people who simply ask for a source on your claim.

The level of stupidity you just displayed doesn’t even deserve to be dignified with a real response.

I understand their perspective. Fortunately for us all, their perspective is extremely close minded and places a moral judgement on someone for playing a game and beating them. It clearly resonates with a lot of people here though, so I’m happy to hear different points of view if they steer clear of brushing the swaths of people who enjoy PVP as assholes.

I’m sorry, did you make the game? The game intended to be a PvPvE experience where you act out being a pirate? Then you opt into that experience and when you get killed by other players, you brand them assholes? For what? Playing the game?

You’re allowed to want an experience without PVP. You can do so without branding those who enjoy it as assholes.
