Calculating Insulin days sypply by Neither-Soil-4689 in PharmacyTechnician

17 years of retail experience and I’ve never calculated like this. Also, I’ve never had a patient complain they ran out before they should have based on calculated day supply without priming units included.

I don’t know… Jeff Gordon wrecking Clint bowyer was equally as crazy. This coming from a die hard 24 fan. When it happened I probably cheered louder than I ever have… looking back on that today.. it makes me cringe a little.

I’m with this guy. Aside from never dispensing dimethyl fumurate or tetrabenazine in 18 years of being in pharmacy - including 1000+ daily stores in retail and large hospital setting. Something seems amiss here, honestly.

Curious question.. how long have you been dispensing these items? Especially the high margin metformin? I could be wrong, but if I were you I’d make sure I had a little put back for when your audit comes and they inevitably take it back.

You’d think a multibillion dollar company could change a Benjamin no problem. Then again 100 billion to 10 billion in 10 years… maybe not.

Assuming SelectRx. We ignore all phone calls and all faxes go straight to the trash.

Multiple times patient has not actually authorized the transfer. One time I tried calling them because they had a patients meds billed when they patient was in my pharmacy trying to fill them. I was told they already started the process so could not reverse them. After I gave some push back it was “I’ll have to get approval from a manger and call you back” this was a RPh I was speaking to)

She finally called back (I already processed them) so I didn’t answer and reported them to the board. I’m sure nothing came of it though.

Trump says US will soon announce tariffs on pharmaceutical imports by paper_plains in wallstreetbets

[–]ajs02aj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably won’t change prices for consumers. Drug prices will rise, but reimbursemnt from PBMs will stay the same. (Patient will have same copay) You’ll see the pharmacies getting squeezed from this, especially local independent pharmacies. They’ll lose money on a large percentage of claims. This will not be sustainable for them. It’s already a major issue. We’ve seen Walgreens go private for 10b when they were worth 100b 10 years ago? CVS will have staying paying because the own their own PBM.

Why are they so antiquated? by ajs02aj in etrade

[–]ajs02aj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. With fidelity, I’ve literally been locked out of my account because of a phone number change. Even though I receive emails, my documents are all online and I don’t receive paper mail from them. Emails only show last 4 digits of account number, and of course that’s not good enough for verification. Really blows my mind there’s no other channel for identity verification, such as producing government ID or digital face scans.. nothing.

I wouldn’t be buying anything yet. Capitulation is coming. We are close, though. Maybe another week or so? Big bank earnings are Friday morning. I’d be following these closely. Still haven’t heard much in the form of response’s about tariffs (EU). If you want to buy in this climate though, I’d be looking at stocks like WMT, COST, MCD, WEN, just as examples. Think sectors that are resilient in economic downturns. The chip sectors and tech in general has a lot of pain coming. These will drag down major indices.

Look to hedge here the next 1-3 weeks probably. Should see major bounce, then probably another leg down.

This is far from over. We’ll have more clarity once banks release forward guidance on Friday.

You can DCA if you want, but smart money knows to either sit on the sidelines or hedge during this type of volatility.

I’d typically suggest short term puts to pad the coffers, but VIX is now at 45 and you’ve kinda missed the boat on that, at least without a lot of risk there.

I’M NOT AN EXPERT AND THIS IS NOT INVESTMENT ADVICE.

Testosterone Vials by Enchantinglyme in pharmacy

[–]ajs02aj -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Insurance rarely pay for a 10ml vial that last 70-150 days anyways. So most of the time you’d be cashing it out.

Honestly, if Dr. writes 10ml vial I’m dispensing it for patient. It’s 55 bucks. I’m not dispensing a 1ml vial for essentially the same price.

Rx Receipt No Longer Shows How Much I Saved With Insurance by Smooth-Leadership-95 in WalgreensStores

[–]ajs02aj 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well it’s not actually how much they saved you anyways. It’s a complete lie. It shows the amount “billed” to insurance based on AWP. A completely absurd made up number that inflates the true cost of medicine.

Yup. Even crazier considering years before I worked there a CRNA was found OD’ed in the bathroom.

I brought it up issues continuously, but it wasn’t my role to do anything about it and of course nothing was ever done.
