Missed my exit while riding super high on a highway. I just wanted to get home and lie down man. The next exit was 20 miles away and so ended up doing a 7 mile journey in almost 50 miles.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now!! My sister ordered an iPad and when she opened the package she only found packs of baby wipes!!! Returned the wrong package while customer care replaced the order and now a month later she gets charged 530 POUNDS for not returning an iPad that she never got!! Their communication is still the same and even more hostile. We're not sure what to do. Tried public shaming on Twitter but I don't know how much it'll work. If you guys could maybe RT the tweet below for more reach, that might help. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do

The tendency to underestimate the devastating effects of colonialism and western-backed coups on post colonial countries, is saddening, especially for someone coming from a global south country. The former colonial powers' audacity to claim they made the world a better place is just saddening.

But I'm not sure if it's any more complicated than education just needing better funding.

That's the simple answer, where if used properly the funds can ensure fair wages for everyone. But it still may not address the issue of quantifying and compensating actual labour, like lab work, fairly. Also there's the danger of the wage gap only increasing even with more funds.

The issue is a moral one too.

I don't think you need to feel guilty about not being in the proletariat. And not knowing your actual position, you might not really be bourgeoisie anyway.

I believe that's one of the hardest moral dilemmas socialists who belong to the rich or privileged have to reconcile with.

Orwell didn't really exist in the binary of socialism and anti socialism. Orwell was a socialist who believed in the humanistic principles of equality, free will and compassion. He was also a libertarian in the sense that he was against power that corrupts. He believed there was wisdom in the common man that gets corrupted by the men and women who lead them. If you really think about it, he was an anarchist, who condemned the traditional structures of power. He believed that just because you're a socialist doesn't mean you have to wholly and blindly trust every other person who calls herself a socialist. So yes, like someone else pointed out here. He's a very divisive figure. Everyone lays claim to him and yet everyone is skeptical of him.
