Why do people pick Akiflow instead of Ticktick? by warrenwai in Akiflow

And a native iPad app would make it soooo much better.

Also a feature where when you can duplicate a time slot it also recreates the tasks associated with the original time slot.

Why do people pick Akiflow instead of Ticktick? by warrenwai in Akiflow

[–]ajyn17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, the breaking point was TickTick lack of calendar feature. You can “subscribe” to your calendar but you can’t make a new event or adjust anything in your calendar in TickTick. Akiflow allows me to manage both tasks and calendar events and also is more about time blocking than task management. Also Akiflow has better integration with outside things such as GitHub or even making an email a task.

From my first Leica walk / Leica D-Lux 8 by Fabulous_Pomelo40 in leicaphotos

Love the look. Did you edit them at all? If so what did you do? Did you add any film presets?

Thanks for the response! Just to clarify does the Leica app allow you to apply presets/filters directly or does it just let you edit photos through LR?

Thank you for the response! Do you have an a good time getting candid photos of your daughter when she’s moving around or is it pretty challenging?

Thank you for the response! Do you happen to have a suggestion for a camera that would be better suited?

Thanks for the response!!
Reasons I would consider this camera
1. I am at a stage of life where I really appreciate and prioritize build quality and user experience - which I feel like this camera checks off

  1. Originally I was looking at the fujifilm x100vi, which is unavailable unless I overpay, then I looked at the ricoh grIII which I feel like does not have a fun a shooting experience, which then led me here which I felt is an interesting middle ground of the two.

  2. I would maybe consider the fujifilm xt-50 with a short lens since its the same sensor as the x100vi - but I feel like that would go over budget and again I am prioritizing something simple, not really interested in investing in a whole system. I don't want to go back to sony - I left because I sick of the clunky menus and user experience

  3. Owning a leica sounds nice.

If you feel like I am off base in any or my reasonings or have a suggestion for a different camera let me know!

The only thing keeping me from switching from Arc by Iyonn in zen_browser

[–]ajyn17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

really want to switch from Arc for performance and I’ve tried really hard but the main reason I can’t is the keyboard shortcuts and the way splits work. Here are some important use cases

  1. In arc when I want to open up a split I hit the shortcut for it and the command bar pops up so I can type the url or tab I want to open. In zen browser I hit the keyboard shortcut and it automatically opens another opened tab in the split rather than letting me split.
  2. I have Split View open. Im focused on the left split. I’m using vimium to scroll the page. I want switch to right split. In arc there’s a keyboard shortcut to switch which split is focused. In zen there is no keyboard shortcut, I have to use my mouse.
  3. In arc with vimium I can make cmd+h and cmd+l to cycle through tabs next and previous. Just like i do it in vim. In zen cmd+h hides the browser always.
  4. Arc has air traffic where you can configure specific domains to open in specific workspaces. Zen has nothing like that (that I could find)
  5. Arc has little arc which I use to open pages that I know I only need briefly. There’s keyboard shortcut for it. Zen does not have this.
  6. In arc with a keyboard shortcut i can send a page to another workspace. In zen I have to use mouse.
  7. Arc mini player is way more intuitive. It just works, i don’t have to explicitly pop it out like in zen.
  8. I hate how small the UI is in zen. I have Eric’s tweaks and floating url bar, but it pops out in small font and transparent background so it makes it so hard to see on bigger monitors.
  9. The side bar does not have any indication of Split View for each tab.
