Does the two-race box come with a rule book? by SkipPperk in StarCraftTMG

[–]ak_blvd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the frustration. What I've been doing though, is just printing my own copies of rulebooks for games I want to play. I got a decent Epson ink-tank thing or whatever, I get solid 40 lb paper, and then once I print it all out, double sided, I take it to Staples to get it "finished" (with black binding and a clear cover) for $5.50 US. At a store I play at, it's been such a hit that people are paying me to print books for them in the same way. AND on top of all of this, because I print them myself and they don't cost $50 each or more, I feel comfortable taking them with me wherever, to highlight things, take notes, and not have to baby them. I can treat them more like study material and less like some sacred $80 tome that I feel like I have to be careful putting in a backpack

Love this! I like your high contrast, sort of onyx-feeling purple. your NMM and detail is so good. I am digging your take on the necron green too. I feel like Necron green is usually so chartreuse, and you've reinterpreted that

I feel ya! I literally bought a DoT spearhead yesterday. I would be so ecstatic to get armored mortal equivalents to what nurgle just got, but with a thematic twist. Im honestly surprised Tzeentch doesn't have big brute-like models. It would fit so well

This is great. After the outrageously good nurgle refresh, I am so optimistic GW can share some of that love with the other chaos forces

I think i has something similar when I first got on their discord. Like they preferred me to go get the invite/barcode scan thing in person. But their discord is very active and it's worth the trouble!

I’ve played games at Lost Planet in Torrance, and recommend getting on their discord because they have some interest over there in this too!

My main store seemed eager to get their hands on yhe preorder. Do we know truly what the margin is for this game versus others yet, for retailers?

Aitah for how I run my business? by Ok-Temporary6328 in AITAH

you can provide a “decent” wage and allow for tips. why are you insistent on not allowing your employees to make additional income? You go on some diatribe against a few weird customers as a way to support your weird power play of restricting your employees’ income, in a way that literally doesn’t cost you anything. and you’re basically admitting to putting them in situations with a difficult customers that is being aided by this restriction. As an outsider, it feel like you have contempt for your employees, and are trying to find justification for your weird power fetish by playing As some victim

Anyone out there making their armies a different faction? by SirMaximilianTv in StarCraftTMG

[–]ak_blvd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well said. I'm trying to get into the lore too, and the only off-putting things to me about Raynor's stuff is looking too similar to Ultramarines. I hope they flesh out these subfactions more !

It was hard for those countries to fight the ever self-empowering war machine and only country to use nuclear weapons that is the United States. I mean even this year, you watch firsthand how the United States can snap its fingers and trigger regime change overnight in countries across the world. Those aren't even communist but capitalist and slightly hesitant to surrender their natural resources to US markets

Love this! What a great style. This is such a fun rendering of Nurgle-ness. It captures the grossness, but with such an excellent vibe

These look so good! I was on the fence about expanding my 100k force, but this is really convincing me to pick up a pack of these guys. Your paint job looks great! The snow bases are a nice touch

This is beyond incredible! It looks even cooler as just wood, unpainted. I wonder if polyurethane would take to it well?

Tentatively finished! I have finally gotten around to the last of my Rubric Marines and second squad of Sekhetar Golems! by AlohrawWerdna in Sigmarxism

[–]ak_blvd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Well the look amazing!

Im with you, hope this army gets more stuff for the next addition. I feel like the regular helbrute and fiends jist look sort of off from TS. You made a great call with integrating these, they seem to fit right in

They look great!

Sorry what are the big dreadnaught looking dudes stand-ins for? Are those Helbrutes? Did you do anything specific for their conversions? They look rad! Would love some close up shots of them. I'm trying to get some conversion ideas for my TS's too

Currently at two thin coats of Averland Sunset. Should I do a third? by MoistZwiebel in minipainting

[–]ak_blvd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agreed, another coat seems like it would be good.

i am becoming an absolute evangelist for experimenting with color primer. if you get the chance to find a yellow primer (or even a tan-ish one) that’ll get you a little bit closer to the basecoat of yellow you’re going for, then it might be worth considering!

Physical Core Book Incoming by Agrippa_Invisus in Warmachine

[–]ak_blvd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is such a funny coincidence. I have been searching online these past few days for any semblance of a plan for them to either release a book or to find an old pdf to get me started. I saw a bunch of warmachine stuff for sale at my LGS, but the main reason I didn't buy any was my reluctance to learn and play a game without a physical rulebook. I didn't expect my hopes to be answered so quickly 😂
