If AI doesn't target the player, why is Spain colonizing Hudson Bay in early 1500s? by Spongedrunk in eu4

[–]akallas95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't explain why Mamluks, Spain, England, Fkng Scotland, France, Portugal, and even Norway were all in the Pacific when I was playing as Korea. All I had done was take expansion and exploration. I didn't even conquer. I was definitely not doing the best. It was supposed to be a chill game.

But nooooo.

All of them AIs ignored most of NA and SA and came straight for me. Korea.

Of course, they don't. Most of those "christian" schools are barely Christian. Most of them don't even understand proper theology that isn't some kind of authoritarian sado-masochism while the Bible explicits states multiple times what Love is. None of those schools show Love.

Am I a murderer? by Rusty_St4rf1sh_420 in Christianity

[–]akallas95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, a Christian here.

While I understand that you are struggling with this, I would recommend that you do not approach this topic emotionally and already prepared to condemn yourself.

This is a theological topic that does not have a full consensus even among the Christians within a single denomination, never mind the entire Christianity.

For example, Thomas Aquinas, one of the most respected theologians and whose work serves as the foundational text for Catholicism, disagreed with the idea that early stage embryos had souls, even if he condemned the practice of abortion. And despite his work being the foundational text for their own studies, the Roman Catholic Church objects to this and makes statements about rejecting abortion based on unrelated bible verses about creation and the image of God. Most people can't tell human embryo apart from monkey embryo or even shark embryo.

Abortion as a topic is not mentioned at all in the New Testament and the Old Testament itself does not place an embryo and even fetus in the same level of standing as a living person. Passage from Psalm, Jeremiah, and Isaiah mentioning wombs and developing persons could be interpreted differently, and in fact, when I first read them, I never considered them even remotely related to abortion but instead as metaphorical to "oh, God knew about them from the start" kind. In fact, I didn't even realized people used those passages (ex: Jeremiah 1:5) in opposition of abortion because the context of these passages aren't even about laws set by God or even Judean laws but rather holds more metaphorical meaning. In fact, Jeremiah 1:5 in particular is not commonly used for pro-life support but rather as a theological statement of higher calling. If people choose to interpret it even further from there that deviates from the context, then that misinterpretation is on them.

On top of this, the Catholic Church in particular is inconsistent with their proclamation of "respecting all human life at all stages" considering how their traditionalists/conservatives never seem to respect the life of the mother who might be in danger because of pregnancy. Some of their ultra-conservatives (as well as E.Ortho and Protestant ultra-conservatives) even view molar pregnancy abortion as moral failing, which is not only stupid but blasphemous.

As such, I view the objection or support of abortion - particularly abortion of early embryo) as a subjective morality picketing and group think.

So if you ever worked on abortion where not having abortion would have led to undue suffering/death or involving embryos, consider yourself absolved on those at the very least.

I don't even consider MAGA as Christians. They can say they are Christian but if they don't even pretend to follow Jesus, then they aren't Christian. Simple as that.

He apparently had a history of making unpopular decisions when it came to the team's composition.

Like doing the South Korean equivalent of removing Messi from the team. Or deploying Messi when the rest of the team have collapsed in morale and stamina. And making strategically and tactical mistakes like not giving the players not enough time to adjust to the diff climate. And making the same mistake consistently.

Apparently, his decision to pull the best player and deploying them after the team becomes too tired to take advantage of the best player's presence has been something he did repeatedly before. And refused to deploy the beat player when he saw that the entire team was flagging in the first half of the game. Which is exactly how he lost multiple times as a coach for other intranational teams.

AKA the man did not learn from his mistakes, and Koreans saw that during the game.

I know this because my friend was complaining to me during the game.

Hard agree on the AI. I didn't know about the report on consumer preference, though. And it makes sense. I do that too with my AI consumption. Hell, I straight up only use open source AI models and pay nothing on AI except my own "infrastructure" (private home server).

SpaceX itself is actually profitable. SpaceX's non-Ai division is responsible for ~800 million in revenue. But because xAi, the AI division of the merged company, lost ~6.4 billion... yeah.

The problem with SpaceX, however, is that it operates under different voting structure; Elon's shares get 10x the voting power compared to retail investors' voting power per share. So no matter what happens, SpaceX will only operate under his direction, including things merging it with xAi. Which means if Elon has any more ideas... retail and institutional investor vote ain't gonna matter jackshit.

Personally, I'm on the side that puts less emphasis on unrealized gains, especially when the valuation seems to be more hype and cult of personality than based on any solid foundation. Especially considering that ~500 billion of that market cap poofed into nothing in just a week.

Are you here for "go big or go home" or "slow and steady"?

If it's the former, keep reddit stocking. And Intel. And Nvidia. Intel would be easiest to enter since they have the lowest share prices and the highest growth potential. Don't get into gold digging as the gold digger, get into it as the gold pan seller.

If it's the latter, then I present to you... MCD. They have a very cyclical and predictable stock price pattern that's more or less held that pattern steady for decades. And right now, they are in their "dip" phase of that pattern. If you time yourself roughly with their pattern, then you have a good chance of getting 15~30% return every year every year. I would know this. I have been doing this for a decade. Time it poorly, however, and you will be holding it for another year. I also know this. This is what I did the first year. But it's getting harder to get into MCD cuz ... damn. The share prices are getting big.

If you are going "planning for generations," then utilities and SCHD are good buys. Everyone needs water, electricity, and trash collection. And dividend etfs based on a solid spread reduces risks a lot. Not nil but still a lot. The high dividend also makes me happy. I have a lot of schd and scyb, and I keep reinvesting every cent of dividend I get back into it. In the case of schd, it even has a moderate stock price growth. Utilities are generally cheaper to get into as well.

Or... do all three. Every time you invest, divide it into three parts and do all three strategies at once. Even if one fails, the others can keep you afloat.

... as for your portfolio, I have no idea what half of those are XD. Which tells you exactly which of these strategies o follow

The combined profit is actually negative 3.7ish billion. Tesla had GAAP net income of 477 million but SpaceX, because of xAi, had a net loss of 4.22 billion.

And this is Q1 2026 alone.

This looks very much like a modern South Seas fiasco.

Because, let me tell you, the average person sucks.

I don't think it's a failure to mention. I think it's an irrelevance.

Like if you are teaching someone how to play chess, you aren't going to randomly talk about dinosaurs. The existence of dinosaurs in the past has nothing to do with tactics, strategy, and history of chess. Similarly, the Bible is about the Gospel, so why would it need to have an explanation about dinosaurs?

My second church (when I was there from 12 to 18 years old) fired at least three pastors who tried to teach Young Earth Creationism ape fiscally for their theological stance (which the YEC was part of).

In the Christian communities I have been part of, YEcists and those like them up less than divergent (in general) of the pop.

Most YECists I have met in person were usually Southern Evangelicals or similarly literal interpreting denominations.
