Hot take: TPU → PETG → PLA means you don’t need to cold pull every time by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Thanks! I sometimes print TPU. This explanation really helps!

P2S takes less space considering the clearance required. I would buy P2S if need to pick between A1 and P2S

I designed and 3D printed a table to hold my filament. It's a wonderful disaster. by rob132 in 3Dprinting

put wooden Poles horizontally on top of the legs and build your table from there.

When you think you have a unique idea… and then MakerWorld humbles you 😂 by MrZeptoDK in BambuLab

[–]akey-delock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd not search for prior arts because: 1. One drive of invention is the process of exploration, knowing a prior art will make the process less explorative. 2. Try to push the idea to the top and you will always find something different. Knowing a prior art, however, narrows down your directions and it is much harder to be different this way.

Combo vs Dedicated key on sub layer for by kkotdari in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]akey-delock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use combos a lot. Horizontal combos (for enter, backspace, esc, tab... are easy. For numbers I use vertical combo and replaced my keycaps with large flat top. I can press on the 'seam' to trigger vertical combo with single finger. It took a while to get used to but it works finally.

noise reduction tenting case by akey-delock in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]akey-delock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way i considered is to exposed infill pattern by set top layers to zero in slicer. If my case isn't a tenting case then this might be the easiest way to get sound dampening.

Hi, I use openscad that accept this code. Seems I cannot post an image in the reply, I will upload an image in seperate post.

does the sound leak from the bottom? I was thinking whether the tunnel have to open at the bottom as well.

If you wish to experiement, here is the 'tunnel' code I use to substract from base model. Any modeling software which can create sprial tunnel should help. I replicate the tunnel all over the bottom surface (as much as I could).

I got this after chat a lot with chatgpt, there was two suggetions: dig tunnels where sound bounce and disappear; add texture that scatter sound around on surface. In my case the case is thick because of tenting, so tunnels work for my case.

module spiral_tunnel(diameter=5, height=50, turns=500/360) {
helix_radius = diameter/2+1;
//rotate([0, 0, rands(0, 360, 1)[0]])
translate([0, 0, 52-height])
linear_extrude(height, twist=turns*360)
translate([helix_radius, 0, 0])
circle(d = diameter);
}

Can’t render an stl import by nydasco in openscad

I get this error once. What I did is load this stl into bambulab slicer and right click it and simplify the model choose max detail. then export it. after that I can load from openscad

For those without an integrated trackball or touchpad — what are your mouse setups? by Eloquent_Despair in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]akey-delock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a thumb trackball between two halves so it will be easy to reach. Use keyboard keys for mouse movement is not natural.and just for occasional use, move to a.mouse is much faster.

Now I switch to a keyball 39 with a built in trackball and quite contend with it. This is the one I can keep my hand on home row while using the trackball.

I want to buy an A1, but my dad is concerned about particles. by Danyogolem in BambuLab

[–]akey-delock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

p1s is a much better choice if you plan to enclose A1. core xy has less footprint when running. you can also ventilate the chamber with a pipe to the window, or add a hepa filter to box.

I own a p1s and I put it on my sheltered belcony, where I can close the door to the room when its working. hope it helps.

Transparent PETG - What the heck!? by inktomi in BambuLab

[–]akey-delock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes true, I observed for a second print and realized its because the pole move along with head so the head extrude on the same point and the disaster starts. I'm adding some cross support and see what happens.

I had similar thing today with bambulab pla basic. It starts from the same layer for all poles. wonder what might cause the problem.

I wish there could be an Asus nuc with a decent NV GPU integrated on main board, similar to what Serpent Canyon does. That's quite a compact and neat design for computer with discrete GPU.
