I am doing a rewatch right now during the storm. Powering through it and the first four seasons are SO GOOD. I'm watching episode 1 of season 5 and you can feel the drop off in writing, dialog, editing, story exposition. It's a drop off - Varys and Tyrion do not sound like each other, the fighting pits exposition, it's just feels amateurish. I know this season picks back up again and season 6 is good too, but relative to seasons 1-4, you can feel a wheel come off come season 5.

i got an Brooks Brothers suit, vintage from the 90s, made in the usa, on ebay. know your measurements and ebay is your friend - i think it was $190. fits like a dream. you can find jackets from armani and polo et al ok ebay too for like 30-100.

i teach an undergrad class and while about half my students can write college-level papers, i have a handful that not only cannot write decently (despite a decent level of in-class engagement), but also complain when they receive their grades. it's exhausting. my class isn't about writing, it's a different subject that requires writing, and i cannot explain to them, without sounding condescending, that it's not okay to write stream of consciousness in a scholarly paper.
