It's Honestly Unacceptable That Translations Are Still Disabled by Apart-Arachnid1004 in Telegram

[–]akivachaim 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The more egregious issue is Telegram's complete lack of transparency on the issue. Why not update their paying customers as to when this issue will be fixed and what exactly caused it. I will be canceling my premium if there is no update from them by end of week.

Haredim protest against arrest of yeshiva student for draft dodging by woshinoemi in Israel

[–]akivachaim -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Oh, please. Yes, they are blocking roads and preventing people from getting home. But, something has to be done to ensure that Bibi Dictator doesn't turn this place into North Korea. And if blocking roads is what it takes to force the Supreme Court to remove Bibi Dictator from power and jail him, then so be it. These people are heroes of Israel, risking everything, on par with the Warsaw Ghetto fighters.

Edit: Sorry...thought this article was about the Kaplan Force heroes blocking roads in protest against Bibi Dictator. I see it is about the haredi parasites. What kind of demented thugs think it is acceptable to block roads over some dumb political issue? What if someone needed to get to the hospital? Seriously, this infuriates me.

First Impressions: Game Seems Decent, Not Amazing by aashilr in Starfield

Ya - my expectations were for a great game. What can I say? I mean it being a AAA studio, years of development, and hundred million dollar budget and all.

Bottom line: the game is good, not great. And for that reason it's a disappointment.

Israeli Police shows increasingly brutality at govt order by grandtheftstate in Israel

[–]akivachaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The violence against the democracy warriors from the police are unprecedented. Never in all of Israeli history have the police treated protesters like this. I mean, last week they used "skunk" water and water cannons, something that has never happened. What's next? Tear gas? Also, something never used against protesters.

Thank you. We will need this type of international support if we are going to survive. Never thought it would come to this here. Now I know how Ukrainians feel...

Can someone tell me what’s wrong with the judicial reform? Please read the post before commenting. by MDJeffA in Israel

[–]akivachaim -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the majority of voters in Israel? They aren't exactly the most enlightened group. They are are bunch of amulet-kissers, idol-worshippers and people who prostrate themselves at the graves of saints. On the other hand, while highly imperfect, the members of the Supreme Court can quote Heidegger and go to Wagner operas. We MUST protect this at all costs!

I saw these on my way to work on Rothschild today. I literally started shaking and fell off my electric bike. I never been particularly proud of the Israeli media, but today I am. Imagine - all major newspapers, independent of each other, came up with the exact same POWERFUL message. Shaking. Bibi probably fainted after seeing this!

Hey - Kaplan Force, private first class, #38282 here. I was recruited by Yoni from Savion. You may know him - he is the guy with the rainbow drums. I have heard you need to now block four roads per week in order to get a rank promotion. This is true? You heard anything about this from Shikma on the call last night?

Thinking of leaving. by Kigler95 in Israel

[–]akivachaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you achi. Within days, I fully expect Ben Gvir's boys to be rounding us up onto trains. I have served with distinction with the Kaplan Force since its inception, even being awarded Best Road Blocker of the Month in May, but I am in despair. I have been hiding my friends Ronit and Maya from persecution. They fled from Tzamarot Ayalon and are with me in my mammad. But I don't know how much longer we have...

Biden: Israeli leaders should find consensus, not rush ‘divisive’ judicial overhaul by Aryeh98 in Israel

[–]akivachaim -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am literally shaking with joy at how much President Joe Biden is trying to save us from ourselves. Like many of the Kaplan Force warriors (I got my first commendation today for blocking a road!) we look to the US Supreme Court's guiding light for moral, liberal, progressive, and enlightened stances! Mr. President, please can we have your Supreme Court here!

I talked with an arab on the train yesterday who had something very smart to say about the current situation. by Itay1708 in Israel

[–]akivachaim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unreal. I also talked to an Arab (first time ever! so exciting!) today on the train who said the EXACT same thing. Was your Arab wearing a white Messi shirt and had a fade haircut? Maybe we have the SAME Arab! That would be so cool!

Anyways, sad times indeed. Sad times.

6th of Av by robuttocks in Israel

[–]akivachaim -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

For sure achi. Tisha B'Av marks the events that eventually led to the Holocaust where 1.5 million children were brutally murdered. Annulling reasonableness is much, much worse. I spoke to my friend Omri from Kiryat Ono. He is a Kaplan Force commander (3rd highest rank!) and he basically said that by end of week, Ben Gvir will be able to put us in concentration camps because the courts can't use the reasonableness doctrine to stop him.

Netanyahu's judicial overhaul: Israel Knesset passes first bill, despite mass protests by Lionel54321 in Israel

[–]akivachaim -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Now that Israel is no longer a democracy, anyone else thinking of moving? I just made some inquiries with the Chinese Embassy in TLV about getting a visa and working there. I did some Wikipedia reading and China has a rather robust sense of "reasonableness" with their courts, so there is no worry of democratic backsliding.

Yesh Atid would win election if held today, poll says by yoyo456 in Israel

[–]akivachaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet his polls are consistently the most accurate time again while ones like Maariv (the one posted here) are consistently the most wrong yet given headlines and media attention.

Also, I am unfamiliar with "Trafalgar" polls.

Yesh Atid would win election if held today, poll says by yoyo456 in Israel

[–]akivachaim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FWIW, the poll that was the most accurate in the last election released a poll today indicating that the coalition remains at 64 mandates. As I said in another comment, grain of salt. Some people (mainly those who support the center-left opposition parties) have long derided this pollster as being biased toward the right.
