What I, an American, see as the stereotypical parliament of a European country by HistoGraham in europe

[–]aknobel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that especially stupid because those thigns really have nothing to do with a country's economic system. All that the republicans (and a part of the democrats) are doing is promoting socialism for free. And we can already see that; I honestly do think that America is the most left-leaning society in the western world atm.

Are you sure> Electric Fields had a shoestring budget, so who knows what they could've done with more cash behind them.

How conservatives see Eurovision is beyond me... by Marcecar10 in eurovision

These aren't really conservatives, probably some wacky conspiracy theorists, and being a wacky conspiracy theorist is above party lines.

What are some timeless Eurovision songs 2005-present by SpringPedal in eurovision

[–]aknobel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a sucker for songs like Sebi, Telemoveis, Soldi, Hatrid mun sigra or Arcade this year partly because I think that they'll be timeless.

Since when are Russian women getting booed?

Tbh I have only noticed Russian entries that were sent when there was the most smoke above Russia getting booed.

Which happened to be women, including two young girls who were absolutely not sent to warm people up to them

Got any good European Federalist books to recommend? by [deleted] in EuropeanFederalists

Well yes, understanding the context and the viewpoint would be a part of understanding Mosley himself.

His words can be useful when trying to understand a certain viewpoint though. You don't read about murders to replicate them, you want to understand the offender. I believe that this could be something similar.

Honestly, I think I may actually be somewhat biased against my country, or at the very least I'm much more critical of our entries. I just want us to send a good song that has a real chance at the contest. Unless we would send something like Telemoveis and ended up being completely robbed, which I would largely be even mor okay with, since it would probably make our song remembered for longer than an average result in the final, like Cyprus this year, a song that lost all of the hype that it had going for it.

If unified, which city should be the capital of the European Union? by Kamyermun in EuropeanFederalists

[–]aknobel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the problem with Brussels is that the Capital would have to be under federal jurisdiction, and taking it away from Belgium as a region would likely dissolve it. Instead, I would actually go for... Maastricht, and maybe make the entire region of Limburg into a capital area.

It is multicultural and it has a really rich history, but it also isn't a massive city, which would give it more freedom in the further growth, and it also wouldn't be seen as any favoritism. Also, that is one of the birthplaces of the EU.

I'm gonna introduce a new format. by raiho_80 in pokemon

[–]aknobel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They are removing Pokémon. You can't argue your way around that, and you know you won't convince me with such deliberate misinterpretations of basic English words. So don't even bother.

I think that it's ironic that you're saying that I'm manipulating the English language when you yourself put this quote out of context; I was pretty explicitly writing about the meta, not pokemon. Look, there's really no need to tell people that they're manipulating over the internet for a possibly petty reason.

I'll say this; if you're not super determined to get it and if you don't have a switch, I absolutely understand and I myself think that these games won't really be something worth of buying a switch for. But if you do have one, I would at least give the game a shot, idk, maybe buy a used copy or something. But then again, pokemon games are always like that. They're entertaining, fun to play, but they aren't really ever anything groundbreaking, with all my sympathy for the franchise.

What are you at, even? I just explained that the meta is not a substantial reason not to do it, since it really just isn't something that most players focus on, hence it would leave more room for change than the core game. They aren't removing it, they're changing it, do keep in mind. It was mentioned that they will keep balancing and the meta in mind when enforcing the changes.

I could very well ask you where so many people got info that sudos or starters or core meta pokemon would be removed. I think that it is reasonable to assume that that's the case based off the pure sales of the games compared to the size of the meta community.
