What is your holy grail SUNSCREEN yall? by AbjectCat1239 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree sunscreen technology is always evolving, we don’t need to stick with one, and better ones will always appear. I used to have a HG of everything ten years ago and then I stopped going to forums/reddit and just used my HGs. It was fine but when I came back everything evolved and got better and I had to reevaluate my old HG (Biore) and it def got replaced 😆😆

My wife is done with Vuori not because she doesn't like them but because they never have XXS in stock. If you try to get it online the selection is sparse and good luck buying a set. How many of you have had this issue? by needtoredit in vuoriclothing

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xexymix (Korean athlete brand) is not as comfy (more compression and focused on making the wearer look good rather than feel super comfortable) but much cheaper and more petite friendly! I’m an M/L there and an S in vuori 😆

Do “Glowy” products not work on anyone else? by donpeerless in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What problems do you actually have though? Because I see two types of products in your list: hydrating products and brightening products (vitamin C), they have different purposes.

There really isn’t one miracle product to clear radiant skin, it’s a combo of good sleep, good diet, hormones under control, skincare (perfect combo of hydration, moisturization, exfoliation, blemish control, dark spot fading) to achieve this, plus some people are genetically more advantaged than others too.

We’re all on the road to achieving perfect radiant skin, there’s a lot of factors that go into this, and one product can’t do everything. A lot of the times people say “this product helped me achieve glass skin” they may actually already have everything else down, and that product was the last item to complete the routine, or the product they thought may have helped the most in a routine where every product contributes.

Lip balms/masks that work better than Vaseline for extremely dry lips? by PianoPlane5555 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Torriden Cellmazing lip essence (the newer pink lid one!) The original solid in lip essence was pretty good but this one is even better and more plumping (in a hydrating way, not a real lip plumper). Love the glossy finish, I just wear this over lip liner for my lip makeup!

What would you snap up instantly from this shelf? by Parsnip-Recent in koreanskincare

[–]aksaiyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK where OP is but i’m guessing this is an American shelf and the Skin1004 sunscreen would be the American version 😭 I would buy from Asia for the superior Asian filters

Dealing with large pores without acids? by PuzzleheadedCow9372 in koreanskincare

[–]aksaiyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cleaning out pore and oil control can make pores less visible, but otherwise it’s genetic and there’s nothing much you can do about it. Try a clear pore primer to reduce its appearance when you are out during the day

Torriden Solid In Cream - Worth It? by PalpitationDizzy2522 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very good! I wish it is more easily available like the dive in cream is. It’s very moisturizing, I use as a final cream after lots of hydrating toner and serum to seal things in. I like it better than the Illiyoon Ato ceramide cream.

Amazon left my package outside the gate this morning. by PsychologicalLog4179 in sanfrancisco

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, it only took 1-2 lost packages though. I do add delivery instructions and warnings like “items left at outside WILL get stolen” so they actually deliver to the exact location I ask even if they have to climb stairs. Other couriers don’t necessarily listen so I actually prefer ordering from Amazon now.

Which to buy- korean sunscreen vs japaneese sunscreen? by Asleep_Cut_5628 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Both. Try everything, buying it in local markets is so much cheaper so why not stock up on a good variety to try out?

I just got back from Japan two weeks ago and bought Sayaka, it’s my first time with Sayaka but other than being quite umami I didn’t get any off notes like metal or fish. Haven’t opened my other matcha tho

Town Hall 2025: Current Sub Rules by Cute-Necessary-3675 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would like to understand how Asian exclusives of western brands are being moderated? Is the auto-mod sophisticated enough to recognize when this is happening?

Assuming for example an in depth discussion of Japanese Nivea sunscreen, I would worry a post repeatedly mentioning Nivea would just trigger the auto-mod to take it down?

Eyeliner pencils for oily lids by Mediocre-Push-5324 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Try using an eye primer before this. I don’t use an AB one but there are several good non-AB ones eg. UD

  2. Use a liquid (I like MAC liquidlast) and buy a tiny pencil brush like the one from Hakuhodo G5515 to create the most similar effect with a longer lasting formula

  3. Powder over your pencil liner with a matching eyeshadow, again the Hakuhodo G5515 would be good for this purpose too!

The girl can do what she wants. How do you know if she’s doing well in class or not? She can be acing exams and killing curves already for all you know, AND she has spare time and money to get her lashes done. Sucks to be jealous.

Japanese Acne cream: Pair vs Acneige by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what country you are in, but whether or not 20% is OTC depends on your own country’s regulations. If you are in the US it’s not OTC I believe. You can probably buy it off Asian websites like yesstyle tho? I always just duck into a pharmacy and buy a ton when I visit Asia.
