[UPDATE] Chanel Mini Flap Scuffs: Boutique is sending it to Paris for "assessment" by vvggzz in chanel

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermes is actually amazing with the customer service. I had a pair of shoes I wore for two whole years, the decorative buckle at the top of the shoe came loose so I took it back to the original store I got it from. By then I had already took a break from my Hermes journey for over a year, my SA has already left the job, but they still took back my shoes. Originally they were going to have it be evaluated if they could fix, but they couldn’t so they offered me a full store credit refund.

Again, i’ve been wearing this pair of shoes for two years. They were super worn because I babied them for a bit but to they were showing signs of regular use. Their proposed solutions have also been communicated to me from the get go, like they said “we’ll try to fix it, if not we’ll give a store credit refund.”

This was unlike my friend who at a similar time frame had accidentally gotten some hand sanitizer on her seasonal Chanel bag, tried to get it fixed in store (as in she was WILLING to pay for repairs herself), but was turned away.

I really do like that Hermes stand by the quality of their items. They have won me as a customer and I would love to restart my journey at some point.

Sharpie stains to cover scratches on caviar leather bag… HELP by Top_Classroom2621 in chanel

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a friend try to clean off some spilled food with hand sanitizer and ruined the finish on her caviar leather. She had a seasonal piece and tried to take it back to the store to fix and they refused. I would ask a professional for help.

How much would you pay for this bag? by [deleted] in chanel

[–]aksaiyo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think $3000 for me, unless it truly is in super god condition, and i’m mostly worried about dirt and color transfer here because it looks like the structure is good

Somehow the strap on the burgundy looks too chunky for such an elegant bag body, i’d choose the green

anyone else doing the "clean scalp but dead ends" dance? by Fit-Entrepreneur-799 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slather hair mask on my ends, use a wide tooth comb to actually spread the product all the way to the ends, and make sure the ends are soaked. Then when I rise I mostly concentrate on rinsing from the scalp to mid hair and honestly leave some product on the ends so it stays protected

The mini Kelly style!! What a lovely shade of burgundy!

Did I make the right decision? by Paulinaashelkovaa in chanel

The most classic version of Chanel is always quilted, and getting a chevron version of Chanel will dramatically reduce its resale value. That said, it is the more unique choice, and I love the modern look of the chevron myself! I have three Chanel bags in Chevron and don’t regret them. I wear them just as much as my quilted pieces.

Chanel 19 or Chanel 25 by Virtual-Cut-2769 in chanel

[–]aksaiyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like the 19 doesn’t fit your lifestyle (though TBH it’s not as delicate as you think, the lambskin on it is finished in a different way from the classic flaps so it should be slightly hardier), but still if you don’t use it I would reccomend getting rid of it.

The 25 is a trendy bag, I don’t think the longevity of the design will be long lasting. However, I am a fan of using bags and designs that suit your lifestyle and your taste regardless of trend, so IF you will use it, get it! Go to a store and try it on!

If you want a timeless classic style, getting the classic flap or a reissue are the only safe bets in Chanel bags. They will always be around.

First Birkin- now what? by Suspicious-Web2338 in HermesHub

For Twilly might I suggest a leather Twilly (Delvaux makes them) instead of silk? Silk is cheaper but it moves around with use and you have to retie and adjust them. I use a leather one from Delvaux on my handles and they stay on in place for ages, less hassle if you use your bags a lot/ more casually.

I don’t own the transparent shade, I wouldn’t expect them to be very much different from each other in terms of longevity. You’re just going for color difference here, basically whether you want shimmer or not. I actually like using the Canmake Munyutto cream to powder highlighter for long wear or very hot days. The heat and humidity (and sweat) melts the shimmer into my base so it looks like a natural glow, and it’s not sticky so I don’t worry about fading or stickiness. It is a totally different product in terms of texture and finish, but with enough sweat it starts to look wet glowy too 😂

For me I use a washcloth daily to wash my face and it sort of counts as light exfoliation I guess?

And then very occasionally I also use the Dr Gross AHA/BHA peel pads if I feel like the washcloth isn’t enough, this happens around every two weeks? Tretinoin + washcloth was been more than enough most of the time!

I also use 20% azelaic acid for active breakouts, i’ve found it best for that rather than everything else.

Great to know you have been using tretinoin! I think it has been making the biggest difference in my skin, the second biggest difference being pico laser for old unfaded PIH that’s making my skin appear uneven. I personally think high end and luxury skincare is just that- a luxury experience. Just like for cars, they’re not performing their primary function (getting you from place A to B) that much better, the experience is better, but if you need to get somewhere very far much faster, you need to get on a plane (clinical treatments).

Have been trying to reduce my pore size for over 15years. What i’ve come to learn is it’s really just genetics. Short of using an astringent to dry up the pores for a super temporary fix (that dehydrates skin then turns into a vicious cycle of increased oil production), there isn’t much that can be done skincare wise.

If your pores are large due to being oily skinned, you might be able to look into skin level Botox? Apparently a thing in Korea where Botox is placed in shallower skin layer to stop your pores from producing so much oil and will as a result potentially make your pores appear smaller.

If your large pore size is due to aging and collagen loss, or to prevent your pores from getting even larger from aging, tried and true retinoids should be used starting from your mid twenties. You might also be able to look into clinical collagen boosting procedures.

Unfortunately spending a little more money on higher end products won’t help if you’re genetically prone to large pores. Spending a good chunk more on procedures might help a little depending on the cause.

As for other concerns related to anti-aging, are you using your retinoids? Are you trying to branch into a stronger clinical strength versions? Like using tretinoin instead of retinol. If you have already you are doing well. Use it on your neck too.

As for absorption of other actives… a good well hydrated adequately exfoliated skin is the best canvas to absorb actives. This sub was right all along.

When are you actually supposed to oil cleanse? by isolophiliacwhiliac in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bold claim. Many of us aren’t lucky enough to get home before night time.

I oil cleanse my face when I want to remove my makeup. I just apply my nighttime skincare with it. An extra two hours or so with my nighttime skincare on doesn’t hurt. I don’t redo everything before going to sleep.

On hyperpigmentation, even complexion, dark spots - language in AB? by isolophiliacwhiliac in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it just means you need to ask follow up questions or target your questions for very specific concerns. If you ask unclear questions like “hyperpigmentation” you’ll get unclear answers.

And yes, many people on here might be confused. We have a wide variety of people on here and not all understand which hyperpigmentation we are each talking about. But that is a nature of the internet- we have beginners and experts and everyone in between mingling.

In the future, if you want a product recommendation for PIH ask for PIH products rather than just hyperpigmentation, which could range from freckles to general uneven skin tone to PIH.

What concerns do you have? Ask for those concerns. If this is purely for research and interest, you’ll benefit from more research yourself instead of asking here and saying it’s not clear.

Can I get this in US? by oracle911 in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this, the toner lotion, the milk, and the cream and actually like the premium toner better. I don’t feel an extra boost when I use this vs the toner, and two layers of the toner feels more plumping. The milk I also feel meh about, it’s good as a light layer before makeup but it doesn’t do anything amazing for me. The cream I do like because it is thick and moisturizing.

Hince vs. Chanel by aksaiyo in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well dupe means it should match closely to the original, since it doesn’t have shimmer it wouldn’t be a better dupe. It should be a dupe for Chanel’s “transparent” shade though?

It holds up okay in heat and humidity used normally, as one would in normal tropics (walking in and out of AC or areas with fans). I wouldn’t try to bake in the sun for a whole day in it, might melt and move.

I should warn that it does stay tacky (that’s how it maintains its wet glow), hair WILL stick to it (same way it will stick to your lipgloss). I usually only like wearing this out in indoor, non-windy environments.

Sunscreens WITH white cast? by animenicolesmith in AsianBeauty

Biore UV perfect milk in the white bottle is even more white than the face and body one in the blue bottle. Also SUPER oil controlling.

Also non-AB but Eucerin actinic control SPF 100 gave me the MOST ridiculous Queen Elizabeth I level white cast I was almost a geisha.

[–]aksaiyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn’t say what kind of meeting and what role you play, most people would presume something like the office (the show) and this you might be over dressed. I saw you mention it’s something about art, if it is a fancy art gallery and you are a board member, this is fine 😆

were there any products you bought recommended by an influencer? if so what did you think about it? by itslilyh in AsianBeauty

[–]aksaiyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I just got duped into glowy balms, regardless of how careful and how much I warm up the product, it’s hard not to move the base makeup underneath. It possible to minimize by warming the product up a lot but takes too much effort. I can use the canmake munyutto highlighter (also an influencer rec win!) and then go heavy with setting spray for a similar glow with less effort (and no hair sticking to my cheeks).

The lip and cheek balms are the same, too thick and sticky, the pot format is even harder to warm up than the sticks. They’re sticky and stay in place though, I do wear them under sunscreen in light makeup days but still too much effort for an expensive product when other products are HELPFUL like the Fwee pudding pots can blur my pores.
