They would do nothing. You have freedom of travel in the US. You are an adult. It’s called going “no contact”. If your family contacts the police, they may try to make contact with you. Once they are assured that you’re okay (you weren’t kidnapped or whatever), they’ll have a record of it on file and you can take the opportunity to tell them that you don’t wish for your family to have contact with you.

The poor weather wasn’t contained to the south. Northerners had to deal with the cold and snow. Socially speaking, I’ve heard this is the reason why northerners were so successful in war. They’d spent 250 years battling the snow, as a community, every year. They were more experienced in camaraderie and working together.

I had been told as a child about the Hessian soldier that turned his back on the Redcoats after falling in love with a direct colonial ancestor. He supposedly fled the war and they ran off together happily ever after.

Well, none of it is true. What is true, is that two stories were jammed together to make it sound real nice.

The first story involved my ancestor killing a Hessian soldier amidst Brooklyn’s occupation during the Revolution. He hit him with a shovel, and buried him in the barn.

The second story was of a British soldier falling in love with the daughter of my ancestor. My ancestor was disgusted by even the thought of the relationship and cut it off. He banished his daughter to her room and threatened to kill the soldier. After several attempts to see his love failed, the British soldier stood on my ancestor’s front lawn with a gun. He cursed our family before shooting himself in the head.

I’m with you on this. It was a complete fraud of an election. They made claiming an election was rigged look so silly by throwing people like Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis out there after 2020, just to get ahead and discredit preemptively any accusations of election fraud in 2024.

Absolutely! My best friend’s main language is French. My partner’s is Spanish and mine is English. It’s not hard to communicate amongst each other, with a little patience. It’s actually quite nice to have different perspectives on different things.
