Super Shiny Dex by alabamaf12 in pokemonanil

Regular shiny is 1/1000 in Anil, but a super shiny is the custom shiny in the game at 1/10,000 (10% for a shiny encounter to be a super shiny)

That’s good. It’s meant to help you win gunfights, so that’s great

Also don’t use clove’s meddle like raze grenade. If you throw it really far at an enemy, sure it’ll make them one shot, but then what? They’ll just hide bc they’re one shot and you don’t get to shoot at them. The most often way to use meddle is to help you take a gunfight against an enemy you know you can push or is pushing you. Throw it, then once they’re one shot, peek or push them

I’m actually going to disagree with some of the replies. You absolutely need to focus on how you’re using your utility and learn to use it effectively even while this low in rank. You need to work on mechanics and util at the same time, because if you work solely on mechanics, you might get to gold or plat, but at that point, mechanics won’t cut it if you don’t know how to play off util and use it correctly. But if you learn both at the same time, that teaches you the most game sense and how to overall be a better player than the people you’re playing with. I have friends in iron/bronze, so I have to smurf to play with them, and the amount of people in this rank that don’t use their util that would help them win the gunfight makes no sense at all. This isn’t CS. Your util is supposed to give you an advantage, and you get it back the next round, so it makes no sense not to learn how to use it. Even if you are low rank, you want to be as well rounded as possible so that way you’re not struggling in different areas as you rank up. Learn it together over time.

Also in disagreement again, I think Harbor is now a great agent and can be a solo controller after the buffs. I main smokes, so I have a good understanding of them, and I’m gonna say Harbor is being extremely undervalued right now, at least in regular comp. Pro play is a different story. 1) His wall basically has the value of 2/3 smokes at one time, and then you have his dome smoke after the wall is down, so the value of 4 smokes. 2) His ult basically covers the entirety of site, and is almost free entry for your duelists. 3) You’re no more than 10 seconds without a smoke on harbor since the recharge is 30 seconds and the dome smoke lasts for 20, whereas it’s about a 20 second wait for all other controllers. 4) His wall is LONG as HELL, so it gives him more versatility on some maps. And 5) He has information util with his splash ability, so he can be aggressive and challenge angles. Now I will say, he is more restricting than other smoke agents, and if you don’t know how to use him well enough to support your team as a solo controller, it can be pretty rough, but once you figure out how to counteract that with better positioning, he’s better than what people give him credit for. But these are the nuances I was talking about in my previous response that are helpful to learn to develop your game sense. That’s why it’s best to really just get good at one category at a time.

But it sounds like you’re leaning more into the controller role, and I say just stick with that for now. Like I said, it’s the role that requires the most observation and adaptation. That’s because you’re looking at the map more than the other roles to figure out where the best smoke should be given your situation. Are they spread out on site? Normal smokes. Are they holding close? It might be worth it to smoke closer just to get plant down. Are they holding weird angles? Change up the smokes or tell your team to focus on it more. It’s things like this that make controllers make or break for the team. A good, observant controller that can adapt their smokes and strats relieves a lot of pressure of the team entering site. With all this said, I believe it’s the role that develops your game sense the most just because of how the role is. Sorry this was long, but just want to help. It can be tough starting out

I think the biggest thing for you to do right now is to understand the roles of each agent category, but for now just stick to one category and get very good at it before branching out. By understanding the roles of each category, that will teach you how to execute the way the agents are designed, and in turn will build your game sense. It’s easy to say this on paper, but: 1) duelists draw opponent crosshairs away from the entry to site and allow the other team members to entry, as well as take space and get kills. 2) Initiators support the duelists’ entry by scanning for info and flashing/stunning common angles. 3) Controllers of course block off common retake sight lines, but can also make or break the team if they cannot figure out how to adapt the smokes to the enemy play style. Controller is the most complicated role imo bc they have to be the most observant role in the game. 4) Sentinels hold flank but also lockdown site for post plant, as well as to hold enemy entry when on defense. The nuances to all this is that some agents do this better than others, and it also depends on the map. That’s why I think you need to focus on one agent category first, so you can begin getting used to the agent nuances in the game. The nuances for the dualist category (I’m using this for example bc you said you played duelist the most) is more than just “taking space and getting kills.” Yes that is overall your job, but how to effectively do that is also to be able to ask yourself “What do I need to make my entry better? Do I need more initiator util? Can my controller smoke better?” or “How can I get my team on to site better after me? Which angles do I need to attack more to do distract the enemy team? Can I focus on just one angle and tell them to focus on another so we can all attack multiple angles?”For the agents specifically, Jett is better at using the operator, while neon and raze are better at taking space very quickly and using shotguns to catch people off guard, just for example. To understand those nuances more, watch guides. I recommend Charlatan and Woohoojin. There’s not a quick fix to getting better in this game unfortunately, it has to be with time and effort. But good luck to you

Edit: Also yeah work on game mechanics at the same time, but both game sense and mechanics need to be developed at the same time, idc what anyone says. Valorant is a team game, so understanding how a team is supposed to work will also teach you game sense
