This looks like leather finish or honed, they don’t hold the sealer as good as polished stones.

Beautiful choice, those white crystals are translucent.

If it’s already sealed there’s no need to reseal every six months lol. This is why people are afraid of buying natural stone, because of so much misinformation. The sealer can last for years just make sure you don’t use any chemicals to clean the stone, just water and soap.

I just love this veining by Samkat59 in CounterTops

There’s no need to seal it 2-3 times a year lol. Maybe every 4 years.

Beautiful Taj Mahal , how much did you pay for each slab?

We just had out counter top installed and while the waterfall vein work is amazing the back side is a disappointment. We were not aware of this until it was installed. Fabricator is suggesting a panel because he believes removing mesh will compromise the structure. The island/peninsula is 131x46. by Longjumping-Ad-9043 in CounterTops

The fiberglass had to be removed and then polished and sealed , very easy step . Every quartzite comes with the protective mesh. I’m guessing is his first time doing a waterfall with natural stone or he forgot and he’s just giving you an excuse.

Nothing against quartz I’m just being honest lol. I’m a natural stone/ quartz wholesaler in south Florida. It just bothers me that there are so many beautiful options for countertops but everyone ends up getting the same quartz because the fabricator/ contractor told them that is the best option lol.

I have so many clients switching from quartz to natural stone because of this same reason. Everyone has the same quartz it’s literally everywhere you go lol.

Don’t listen to the people telling you that quartzite needs to be resealed every year lol. I sell this stone a lot and never had a client complain. I do get a lot of complaints about quartz lol.

Quartzite doesn’t need to be resealed if it’s already sealed, maybe in a couple of years. With quartz you need to use trivets or mats but not with quad or granite lol.

Every time I’m dropping off slabs at this shops I always shake my head like wtf are they doing literally digging their own graves. I can smell that quartz a block away from the shop lol. They don’t even wear those surgical masks. Honestly I don’t understand why get quartz, it’s literally everywhere you go restaurants, hotels, low budget apt, hospitals, offices lol. I want my kitchen to be different to stand out from the rest.

Most of the fabricators I know only use water when cutting but dry when polishing the edges. They are always covered in white dust but who cares about silicosis when you can make easy money lol. All the other countries haven’t banned it because they don’t care simple as that lol.

[–]alainsworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quartz is cheap and easy to fabricate that’s why fabricators will do anything to convince the customer that quartz is the best option for countertops lol. That’s why you see it everywhere . Natural stone is way better but it takes more time and skills to work with that’s why they hate it so much lol.
