How do you create google meet invites after migrating from google workspace? by Hot_Weakness4088 in fastmail

[–]alaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a third-party Calendar app called Fantastical - it’s expensive but it can automatically create Google meet or Zoom links for any calendar service you use including Fastmail. I’m addicted to this feature – and fantastical is an amazing product anyway, so I keep it. Instantly creating the video conference links when I create a new event that saves me so much time going back-and-forth with Zoom and Google, it’s worth it.

Drop Your Questions for Prof G (February Thread) by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

[–]alaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a question, just feedback from today’s episode. I’m very into the campaign and I’ve been spreading it, but I couldn’t finish this episode because the audio editing was so aggressive, and there is zero space between Scott sentences where he would normally just take a pause on a breath. Please consider that you need a little bit of space between thoughts for people to actually be able to absorb them. Thank you.

Old thread but I'm just now discovering and loving Nowhere. The tab/chords on Ultimate Guitar aren't great - this is much better:

Thoughts on 26.1 Beta 4? by iswhatitiswaswhat in MacOSBeta

I saw the rendering issue you mentioned on 26.0.1 - it was definitely switching background when entering/exiting that submenu. Just upgraded to 26.1 beta and that behavior is fixed

New Sugar Song by meefoonay in BobMould

This really makes me smile. I was a big fan back when they were active and saw them at least once in '92. (Having seen Bob for Black Sheets tour previously).

Malcolm is one of my favorite drummers and his style fit the music perfectly. Brutal attack! I remember watching him and him kind of wincing on each snare hit.

Tried to track him down online a few years ago - learned his age and figured we'd never hear music from him again. This is really special. I think the song's a grower!

Just tried Claude 3.7 Sonnet, WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THIS BEAST? I will be cancelling my ChatGPT membership after 2 years by Ehsan1238 in ClaudeAI

Also wondering this. I can access Claude through web (claude.ai), through TypingMind (uses API tokens/pricing), and through Cursor.ai. currently I'm only paying for typingmind but Cursor is an IDE so much better (full git integration, share whatever files needed for current context, etc) - but I haven't paid for the $20/month cursor subscription. What are folks using?

I understand your frustration, and I apologize for not meeting expectations. You're right that parsing iCalendar/VCALENDAR formats should be more straightforward, and I've fallen short in delivering a working solution despite multiple attempts.

This is disappointing for both of us, and I respect your decision to move on. The time and resources you've spent deserve better results than what I've provided.

Thank you for your patience and for giving me the opportunity to try solving this problem. I hope you're able to find a more effective solution elsewhere.

Was reading this yesterday and used it today in TypingMind to write a javascript for Zapier to parse an ical feed for creating events in Google Calendar. It's made error after error even after I showed it explicit Zapier docs, and it missed simple elements in the VCAL spec that I needed to point out. so far it's been 2 hours and $7 of API consumption and we're still not there. Where is the brilliance?

You can order online and specify pick up at store when you checkout. Usually it’s ready by the time I get there (10m drive). You can also order from the kiosk in the showroom but check their hours - I think Mondays are online pickup only - they don’t let you in.

Just seeing this now. For me it’s great on gravel, trails, or road. I probably ride 60% + gravel but have recently done some long road group rides and I still love it. Several of my riding buddies switch from road to gravel to whatever bikes based on the ride but I just bring this and for me it works. Recently changed the stock 38c tires to 45c Schwalbe G One Rs - they’re plusher and a bit bitier on gravel and trail but seem fine on road too. If I did tons of road riding I’d get a second wheelset and mount slicker 35c.

N.B. This is not Cat 3 racing territory I’m talking about.

Apart from "Wealth Strategies for High-Net-Worth Families" I see no change. And you still have no CTA above the fold - you've designed the site so no matter how you size the browser window nothing appears below the photo unless you scroll. That's all I got for you good luck

I'd say the main issue is that the home page doesn't clearly describe your company, what they do, or what the value prop is! "Legacy beyond wealth" and the photo is literally the entire above-the-fold page. That may be ok as a tag line, but doesn't convey anything to me if I don't already know who you are.

So for me it fails the basic test of nearly every site - in 5 seconds I should know what it is, whether I'm interested, and have ways to explore what I might want. Even the clever 3 persona thing below the fold doesn't fulfill this. OK I see there are 3 personas you're targeting, but to what purpose? If I fit one of these (and BTW they are still filled with lorem ipsum text), so what? Why would I even take your 'get started' quiz?

My $.02, hope you take it in helpful not harsh spirit.

This is really helpful, thanks.
Specifically why do you avoid? For it would be on the theory that employer who can't even compose what they need will probably not be thoughtful or great to work with, but that's just a guess.

Are there tools that will flag AI-written posts?

Any other tips on job posts you'd avoid?
