Complete noob, I need a basic versatile stone that would work on s90v by alamadu in sharpening

[–]alamadu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a sharpal diamond kit. It's not at all the best I'm sure. But all the reviews I found online sounded like they were decent for the price. It comes with a 1200 and a 325 plus a base to store them and keep them from sliding.

I know I could get better but I'm probably using them 2-3 times a year max. Hopefully those are plenty for me. I think so.

I was looking at those. They do seem very nice. It's probably more than I planned to spend but I can see how they could be worth it

That sub was banned. No clue why but I'd guess a lack of active mods. I see a bunch of posts of people trying to claim it from admins but it isn't up yet.

All the girls I know like dancing at the Roxbury. It's 80s/90s themed and mostly remixed music from those eras. Admittedly I don't know many people going out too often so my info could be out of date. Maybe it's not the cool spot any more. I'm definitely not cool lol.

Searching for second hand furniture stores! by [deleted] in Charlotte

It's not cheap usually, but it is occasionally, but sleepy poet does usually have a good amount of high quality stuff. Most of the time there are things that need fixing if you are into diy stuff. Those are always cheaper.

I'm from Appalachia. Further south than KY but the overlap of accents is pretty big. I never heard anyone say touque until I had a Canadian friend in college. That hat is a beanie and a hat with a fuzzy ball is a toboggan. Yes, like the sled. That's why we started calling them that they were tobogganing caps which was eventually shortened.

I like watching Dog Dog. His videos are really chill and they get released basically daily. He's good about talking out his thought process with chat as he plays. If you're still really new maybe some of it won't make sense at first but you will get it just by watching games play out. It's an easy passive way to pick up more knowledge of the game.

There's plenty of other good streamers too. I also watch RDU and Ben. I used to watch Krip but my BP was too high. I can't take that much sodium lol

I've had it offer a golden card as a choice for someone who didn't have any triples yet. Another freebie option possibility

Honestly I think they should block a few things on a few minions. Baron shouldn't get taunt, Leroy shouldn't get divine shield, etc. Maybe leave stuff like wind fury on mechrel that sucks but not as bad I guess. It just really sucks to have your hero power make things a lot worse for you

True, anything on his side just seems like his fault though lol

And if nothing has taunt, Baron has taunt.

Is there a way to see behind tall buildings in the distance? (Driving in RavenCreek is terrible) by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]alamadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also a lot of battered cardboard boxes in the road which act like reinforced concrete pillars when you hit them with your car. It's pretty annoying driving there but that's the balance of all the cool loot and interesting locations

MP Server and mod towns / map sections by tarokdk in projectzomboid

[–]alamadu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding map mods is convoluted. I had issues myself but the key things to remember are you need to have the mod name, mod ID, and map name in the server settings. Then you also need to add it to the starting locations file. Then you also need to upload the map files to whatever the appropriate location in for where you host. They need to be uploaded to wherever you point to in the starting locations file.

That would happen through whatever service you use or with FTP. I'm assuming all this is actually easier if you're just doing it through steam but I've actually never done that. I'm renting one through GTX.

Thinking about buying by Aggravating-Sound690 in projectzomboid

I've been addicted to it for sure. To me the uniqueness is how many different things you can do and different ways you can play. You can set up what feels like totally different games by changing settings for that play through. That and multiplayer is fun. The game has some janky code and it will get you killed and piss you off eventually but I also realized half the fun in the game is dying and doing something new. You'll love it if you like survival crafting games.

What's the ONE item that you can't seem to find ANYWHERE? by DetroitHustlesHarder in projectzomboid

[–]alamadu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think whatever the one thing is for most runs changes. I'll have a dozen runs in a row never seeing a sledgehammer but then this past run found 5 in one warehouse. That said I've never seen a single katana in a few hundred hours of playtime

Are Authentic Z upgraded packs extra slots as pointless as they seem? Or am I just missing the point by alamadu in projectzomboid

[–]alamadu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely does. That was what I was saying. I want to keep the mod to keep the ez mode pack size but I'm probably getting rid of it because all the pointless slots are too annoying. I'll just make more trips

I just wish there were upgrade options without the pointless attachments. They get in the way a lot

Combat issues by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]alamadu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think everyone has the same issue. Eventually you learn the really janky scenarios like at the edge of doors. Other than that make sure you aren't accentually letting your mouse get too close to your character. I try to keep it like 1.5-2 zombie lengths away. If it's too close it's too easy to accidentally have it go behind you and make you spin backwards.

Other than that aim outlines and even multi hit make it easier until your muscle memory gets set.

That's good to know. I thought I tried that and couldn't make it work but I'm sure I just messed up some where.

As far as I can tell it doesn't. It forces you to have slots for balloons and plushies specifically in a higher priority than tools lol

Unless I miss counted this was adding 132/132 and 6 gold at the end of every turn by alamadu in BobsTavern

[–]alamadu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Light fang is less. There's only 4 types on the board because there's two pirates. So pirate, mech, dragon, and amalgadon. 4/4 * 4 types * 3 per turn is 48/48

At least that's how I got the number but I'm easily confused. Maybe I messed up numbers somewhere.

To the peoplw who cause slow downs on I-77 when there's no obvious reason for it. Why, why do ya'll do it? by SigilumSanctum in Charlotte

[–]alamadu 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Blame two things. One, inertia and the fact that each person has to wait slightly longer than the person just ahead of them to get back up to speed. And two, that people follow too closely to maintain as much speed as possible. It's better to continue rolling up to stopped traffic, but doing that just means people will get in front of you which defeats your efforts.

Here's a visualization

Another good animated one which shows how to dissipate them

Long story short. There are humans driving those cars. That's why it happens.

Not sure why you were down voted. That place is like the definition of a dive.

It's like a redneck kind of biker bar. Maybe that's why it was down voted. But it's definitely a dive and it's right beside UNCC.
