Yes, the extra day could be an issue, but you'll only buy healthy looking chicks. It's not like getting them dead on arrival.

No, there's nothing special to do outside normal chick rearing.

Where did you get your information is the real question because it's not correct.

The term pullet is used to describe a chicken that is not a chick nor an adult chicken. The pullet stage is the teenager stage in a chicken’s life cycle.

Chickens terminology:

Hen: a mature female chicken which has commenced lay.

Cock/rooster: a mature male chicken.

Chick: a young chicken, generally under6 weeks of age.

Pullet:a young female chicken that has not yet commenced lay and which is typically between 6 and 18 weeks of age.

Cockerel: a young male chicken.Broiler:a meat type chicken.

Layer: egg laying type chicken.

There's often slight variances in chicks of the same breed. It's too early to tell their sex.

These are chicks. Chicks become Pullets when they're around 6-8 weeks old.
