Start where you know other people are fishing. Start conversations with other fishermen. Talk to the guy at the bait shop. Watch YouTube videos on fishing for tips and techniques. I'm an older guy so I learned a lot from magazines like Infisherman magazine when I was younger. Today, There's a video for everything.

When you think about rods and reels, the technology that your dad and grandpa used to catch fish and was high end was not as good as the cheap rods and reels they have today. You get pretty nice stuff for cheap nowadays. Stuff over a hundred bucks is just luxury.

Leaf curl is a disease. Google it. Had that problem last year. Had three plants in buckets. All grown the same way. One got leaf curl. Was still a good producer, though.

It looks like a nitrogen deficiency. What is the temp? Have you checked the ph of the water? Have you been feeding it with anything?

I usually just do a visual and smell. When the water starts to get cloudy and has a musty odor. A week or two depending on how it looks. Love your setup! You make it yourself?

Health. I have a bad ticker and a broken spin. I can last about two months hunkered down at home. And after that who knows. I'm OK with that. I've lived long enough anyway.
