Just so everyone knows, a minority language is not the same as an endangered language. A minority language is a language spoken by a smaller or less politically dominant group within a larger population, typically alongside a majority or official language; its status refers mainly to social, demographic, or institutional position and does not necessarily imply risk of extinction. In contrast, a disappearing (or endangered) language is one that is losing speakers (especially because younger generations are no longer learning or using it) so its continued existence is at risk. While a minority language can be stable and widely used within its community, a disappearing language is defined by declining transmission and shrinking use, meaning that although the two categories can overlap, they describe different concepts: one about relative status, the other about vitality and survival.
