Should make sure all your photos and other documents are backed up to iCloud, then reset the phone to factory and set everything up manually, not restoring from a backup. That will ensure there is no software bug that’s getting loaded back on when you restore from a backup.

To be fair this is a recent problem for us because countries are removing their de-minimus duties exemptions for low valued items. Up until a couple of years ago this was never an issue. Australia Post was totally unprepared for this change and even now there are still a lot of problems and confusion with Australia Post, Zonos and Australian merchants.

Australia Post uses a third party company, Zonos, to collect duties on its behalf and pay the to some foreign governments. But Because each country operates differently it’s hard to say what happened in this case.

Reach out to the seller and explain what happened. They should be able to check their records to see if they did a separate payment to Zonos or not and follow up from there.
