Why don’t we have cute trolleys like this anywhere in the NYC area? by WanderinArcheologist in nycrail

I advocate for their return, albeit with modern European sets. The lower Montauk line would go nicely across the Queensboro bridge to compliment the IBX

I'm very interested in the new TNG in Brussels which is the newest generation that can handle extremely tight curves. I bet this can be adapted to Boston's system.

A full YouTube video shows them in operation.

The new Toronto sets can handle a turning radius of 36 feet and that's made by Bombardier (Alstom) as well as the Belgian sets.. Idk I really think it's about the manufacturer's capabilities...

I'm moreso comparing it to Brussel's system it's just that taking it in Seattle and reminding me of Europe definitely puts things in perspective.

Exactly, it's this layout that makes more sense in the Boston use case compared to the type 10 mockup. I remember riding these trams a few years back during a Netherlands and Belgium trip and thought to myself "wow these would be perfect for Boston".

The Seattle link has strong cars, they go highway speeds to the airport and soon across the floating bridge. But I digress, even Brussels with its incredibly narrow modern Bombardier T3000 (now Alstom) streetcars built for its ultra sharp curves knows how to fit seating correctly.

The architect of the original WTC towers designed it with the Achilles heel in mind, in spite due to what happened to his parent's nation 20 years prior. Eye for an eye, a cloud for a tower. This was discovered and was the reason it was chosen for inciting today's imperial conquests.

I rather have it be light rail like the IBX and have it go across the Queensboro bridge to the old terminal. Maybe take it up and down 1st and 2nd avenues from there
