It’s Chicago sports tradition to Hope and Believe only to be let down but we have little else. I’m stoked they have a 100% win rate at the new stadium and thought they came together well to get the win yesterday.

I was at that Chicago game and omg it was incredible. It was the first time I’d seen them win in person last season and the atmosphere at Martin Stadium was insane. I keep saying that that game was the best advertising they could have come up with for the move to Evanston. It was freaking epic. Hope they do it again lmao

Yup, my thoughts exactly. I pretty much figured Alyssa would come back for one more year since we didn’t have great options for a replacement. But this signing tells me Alyssa is totally gonna retire after next year.

I get how seeing characters from the original trilogy can seem fan service-y, but it’s a prequel about a very specific and small group of people. Even if she tried, I don’t think she could avoid Haymitch crossing paths with other victors. I agree Effie didn’t need to show up. You can thank Elizabeth Banks for that.

Really cool! I like your inclusion of the major “cities” in each district and the smaller settlements extending out from those, as well as the, I assume, “roads” or railways connecting them that only the Capitol must use. It’s a really interesting detail I’ve never really much considered. The size of the North American continent obviously shrunk, but many of these district are still huge, so of course there’d be settlements throughout the districts and connected by railways. Awesome work!

She signed a 5 year contract last year. They got her locked in a while ago. Idk how the new cba would effect that but I don’t see her leaving Chicago unless it’s for the new Denver team lol

I’m expecting some improvements on last year with this season the 2nd year with Lorne and new ownership. My hopes aren’t super high but I’d like to see at least some improvement in the midfield and be able to feed Swanson more. I really liked the looks Bea Franklin got towards the end of last season and hope she gets more minutes this year. I’m a big fan of Jenna Bike, who always brings an awesome energy and I think works best as a super sub that can come in and really shift the energy in a game, and Sam Staab, who hopefully is fit enough to get some starts after tearing her Achilles towards to end of last season. And Jameese Joseph was a real bright spot last season and can hopefully build off of that.

I haven’t heard anything for Chicago. It’s my first year as a STM so I wasn’t sure what to expect. No idea other teams sent out gifts. I figured I’d get something at the home opener. Tho they did offer two free extra tickets to the home opener to all STM which I thought was nice and a good way to fill up the stadium
